Configuration
BMW M3 / M4 G80 / G81 / G82 / G83 Valved Exhaust (2021-2026)
Valves
Operated by remote control, paired in our workshop.
Estimated at 0.50 m from the outlet, 45°, 2,000 rpm with a warm engine. Allow ± 2 dB depending on the engine and measuring point. A 3 dB difference is audible in a direct comparison; 10 dB sounds roughly twice as loud.

The BMW M3 and M4 G8x exhaust in detail.
This system is designed for the four body styles of the G8x generation launched since 2021: M3 G80 saloon, M3 Touring G81, M4 G82 coupé and M4 Convertible G83, in base form (480 hp, 550 Nm) as well as Competition (510 hp, 650 Nm). All of them use the S58, a 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six, and all take exactly the same Rog system, built to your VIN.
From the factory, the S58 breathes through a petrol particulate filter and bulky silencers, to the point that BMW plays part of the sound through the cabin speakers. With this valved cat-back, also known as a valve exhaust, you keep a sound close to stock with the valves closed; with the valves open, the inline-six finds its real voice. The design sets the tone: Standard, with no resonator, keeps the raw grain of the twin-turbo; Equal Length balances the two pipes, the pulses synchronise and the note rises, smoother and less rasping; the Z-pipe pushes towards an exotic high pitch, close to a Japanese naturally aspirated engine at high revs.
Fitting requires no welding or cutting, using band clamps and gaskets, in about two hours on a lift. If your M3 or M4 still has its factory valves, the system takes over their control and the drive modes stay in charge; otherwise the Rog remote, whose control box sits in the boot, opens or closes them at the press of a button.
After the silencer, the part holding the S58 back is the downpipe, which carries the catalytic converter: this page offers it under the “Manifold” option. With a 200-cell converter it keeps the S58’s emissions control; the decat version is reserved for track use. On its own it brings sound and a little weight saving; the horsepower comes with an ECU remap. As for materials: 304 stainless steel with a full sound, or titanium, around 40% lighter for the same design, in brushed, chrome, gold or purple.

Questions about the BMW M3 G80 / M4 G82 3.0T exhaust.
Does the system fit the M3 Touring G81 and the M4 Convertible G83?
Yes. G80, G81, G82 and G83 share the same Rog system, Competition included. You give us your VIN when you order and we check compatibility before starting manufacturing.
Does an M3 or M4 G8x need an ECU remap to fit the cat-back?
No, the S58 keeps its original ECU with the cat-back alone. An ECU remap makes sense if you also replace the downpipe: at Stage 2, the published figures for the 510 hp version reach 700 hp and 900 Nm. A sport catalytic converter can trigger the engine warning light, which the remap resolves.
Will my M3 G80 pass vehicle inspection?
Presented with the valves closed, it stays close to its factory sound level. With the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe, emissions control is still there. The 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is designed for the track.
Standard, Equal Length or Z-pipe: which to choose on the S58?
Standard for a raw, full sound. Equal Length for a higher-pitched, smoother inline-six, the choice that changes the car’s identity the most. Z-pipe for the highest, most exotic note, reserved for those who want to take the sound experience all the way.
Factory valves or the Rog remote on an M4 G82?
Both are chosen when you configure. With the factory control, the BMW’s drive modes open and close the valves. With the Rog remote, two buttons are enough, whatever mode is engaged.
