The short answer. For a Golf 7 R, 7.5 R or 8 R, the Rog system is a valved cat-back made from your VIN, in stainless steel or titanium, from €2,490, with free delivery and a 3-year warranty. At Milltek, you choose the sound by buying a version, resonated or non-resonated, and some Golf 7.5 R systems are reserved for cars without a particulate filter.

What Milltek offers for the Golf R, and what changes with a Rog system made from your R's VIN.

Milltek and the Golf R: what the catalogue says.

On its official website, Milltek offers 76.2 or 80 mm cat-back systems for the Golf 7 R, in a resonated version, more discreet, or a non-resonated version, louder. For the Golf 7.5 R, several systems are listed for cars without a particulate filter, and "GPF / OPF back" versions exist for those that have one. For the Golf 8 R and 8.5 R, Milltek offers 80 mm systems fitted after the particulate filter, resonated or not.

The Rog system replaces everything after the downpipe and lets you choose the character without changing parts: straight pipe or resonator, at the same price, then valves open or closed on every drive.

The price of Milltek on the Golf R.

Milltek prices depend on the version, the diameter, the tips and the downpipe chosen: the parts are priced separately, and we quote none of them.

At Rog, the price is shown on the product pages: from €2,490 in stainless steel and €2,990 in titanium, for the Golf 7 R as for the Golf 8 R, valves and remote included, with free delivery.

The EA888 sound: your choice.

The Golf 8 R gets the 2.0 TSI EA888 with 320 hp and 420 Nm, the Golf 7 R with 300 to 310 hp. As standard, the R stays surprisingly discreet. The Rog system lets you choose:

  • the character, at the same price: straight pipe for the raw sound of the 2.0 TSI, or resonator for a rounder, slightly softer voice;
  • the material: 304 stainless steel, or titanium about 40% lighter for the same design (+ €500), in a brushed, gold or purple finish;

  • the control, at the same price: your original valves, refitted on the system and still controlled by the drive modes, or Rog valves already fitted, with their remote;
  • the front section, as an option: 200-cell or 100-cell catalysed downpipe (+ €780 on the 8 R, + €650 on the 7 R), or decat (+ €500 on the 8 R, + €420 on the 7 R).

Valves open, the R gains a full tone, a real presence under load and crisp crackles on lift-off. Valves closed, it keeps a settled cruise, without drone. Four round tailpipes, fitting without welding with clamps and gaskets, in about two hours at the garage of your choice.

Which one for your Golf R.

If you want to choose the character without buying another part, controllable valves and titanium in three shades, the Rog system is made for that: from €2,490, remote included, with free delivery and a 3-year warranty. It is made in 20 working days from your VIN.

Frequently asked questions.

How much is a Milltek system for the Golf R?
The Milltek price depends on the version, the diameter, the tips and the downpipe chosen; we quote none of them. The valved Rog system is listed from €2,490, for the Golf 7 R as for the Golf 8 R.

Resonated or non-resonated: how do you choose the sound at Rog?
On the Rog system, the straight pipe gives the raw sound of the 2.0 TSI and the resonator a rounder, slightly softer voice, at the same price. The valves then set the volume on every drive.

My Golf 8 R is a 2023 or 2024 car: does the Rog system suit it?
The product page covers the 2020 to 2022 model years. For a more recent R, send us the VIN: every part is checked before manufacture.

Does the Golf R need a remap?
Not for the cat-back. With the downpipe and a remap at an approved tuning centre, the published figures reach 440 hp and 550 Nm on the Golf 8 R.

Does the Rog system drone on the motorway?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed.
