The Audi R8 4S 5.2 V10 exhaust in detail.

The facelifted R8 4S carries over the naturally aspirated V10 5.2 FSI, ten cylinders that owe their voice to nothing but themselves. Depending on the version, it gives 570 hp and 560 Nm, or 620 hp and 580 Nm in Performance form. This page covers the 2020 to 2023 model years; the first-generation V8 and V10 R8 42 have their own system.

Deep below 4,000 rpm, ever higher-pitched up to the red line: the V10 builds its voice at high revs, and the factory exhaust tempers its upper harmonics. With the valves open, our valved cat-back lets them speak; with the valves closed, the R8 becomes a discreet GT, capable of a long journey without fatigue.

On this mid-engined car, the compact exhaust includes small silencers and the valves; it is attached with clamps and gaskets, without welding, in about two hours, and joins the outlets specific to the R8’s diffuser. With or without factory valves, the R8 4S can be controlled: by its own control where it exists, by the Rog remote otherwise.

Offered on this page, the “Manifold” option replaces the five-outlet manifolds on each bank of the V10, catalytic converters included. Anyone driving their R8 4S on the open road will stick with the 200-cell, emissions control maintained; the 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, while the decat version is reserved for track use. The power gain on a naturally aspirated engine remains modest, 3 to 8% with an ECU remap. Two materials are offered: 304 stainless steel and titanium, around 40% lighter, available in four finishes.

Questions about the Audi R8 4S 5.2 V10 exhaust.

My R8 4S dates from 2017, before the facelift: can I order?

The page is for the facelifted R8 4S from 2020 to 2023, and our supplier rules out earlier model years. Send us your VIN: we check what exists for your car before any order.

What gain can you expect on the R8 4S V10 Performance?

On this naturally aspirated V10, the manifolds and an ECU remap bring a real but modest gain of 3 to 8%. With no reliable figure for this generation, no Stage 2 number is published here.

What should be done before presenting a modified R8 4S at vehicle inspection?

With the valves closed, the V10 returns to its stock level. On emissions, the cat-back alone or the 200-cell manifolds change nothing. 100-cell manifolds are accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, and in decat form they limit the R8 to the track.

Is the R8 4S Spyder compatible?

Our supplier does not distinguish between coupé and Spyder for the facelifted R8 4S. Your Spyder’s VIN, sent before ordering, lets us confirm it.
