Configuration
Nissan GT-R R35 Valved Exhaust (2008-2023)
Valves
Operated by remote control, paired in our workshop.
Estimated at 0.50 m from the outlet, 45°, 2,000 rpm with a warm engine. Allow ± 2 dB depending on the engine and measuring point. A 3 dB difference is audible in a direct comparison; 10 dB sounds roughly twice as loud.
Configuration guide
Sound intensity with the valves open, on a scale of 0 to 10.
| Configuration | Intensity |
|---|---|
| Decat downpipe + ROG cat-back | 10/10 |
| 100-cell sports catalytic converter + ROG cat-back | 9/10 |
| 200-cell sports catalytic converter + ROG cat-back | 8/10 |
| ROG cat-back only, factory catalytic converter retained | 7/10 |

The Nissan GT-R R35 exhaust in detail.
A single system covers the entire career of the GT-R R35, from 2008 to 2023. Every phase shares the VR38DETT, a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 hand-assembled by the Takumi craftsmen in Yokohama, whose output grew from 485 to 570 hp and torque from 588 to 637 Nm over the model years. Your VIN lets us confirm the system for your GT-R before we build it.
Godzilla shook up every hierarchy at launch, yet its factory exhaust does everything to make it heard as little as possible. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back frees the VR38: a technical, menacing rumble, audible turbo breathing, bangs on the overrun. With the valves closed, the GT-R crosses town incognito, at a level close to stock, which makes the surprise even better.
Fitting uses band clamps and gaskets, no welding or cutting, in about two hours for an equipped mechanic. For the valves, two choices: the factory control, retained as it is if your R35 has factory valves, or the Rog remote, which opens and closes them at any time, whatever the mode.
On this twin-turbo V6, it is the downpipe, with its catalytic converter, that holds the engine back the most after the silencer; this page offers it under the “Manifold” option. The 200-cell keeps emissions control, while the 100-cell reduces it and the decat version removes it. Fitted to a GT-R with a stock ECU, this part changes the sound and the weight, not the horsepower; combined with an ECU remap, it unlocks the potential of a VR38 known as one of the most capable engines for tuning. Material of your choice: 304 stainless steel or titanium, around 40% lighter, in brushed, chrome, gold or purple.

Questions about the Nissan GT-R R35 V6 3.8 TT exhaust.
Does the system fit every GT-R R35, from 2008 to 2023?
Yes, every phase of the R35 shares the VR38DETT and the same Rog system, from the 485 hp version to the 570 hp one. The VIN, requested with the order, lets us verify this before we start manufacturing.
Does the GT-R need an ECU remap after fitting?
Nothing is required with the cat-back, which the R35’s electronics accept as it is. A visit to an approved tuner makes sense once the downpipe is replaced, since only the map turns that extra flow into power. It also recalibrates the downstream lambda sensor, which can trigger the warning light with a sport catalytic converter.
Vehicle inspection: how should a GT-R R35 with this system be presented?
Close the valves before the inspection: Godzilla then returns to a volume close to stock. As long as the original front section or the 200-cell downpipe stays in place, the catalytic converter keeps doing its work. The 100-cell is judged case by case, depending on the car and the country, and the decat version only goes out on track.
Stainless steel or titanium on a GT-R?
304 stainless steel gives a full sound and stands up to winter. Titanium, around 40% lighter for the same design, sounds more metallic at high revs and comes in four colours, from brushed to purple.
How long does it take to equip my GT-R?
Made to order, inspection and shipping included: 20 working days from confirmation to delivery. Delivery is free and insured; fitting then takes around two hours.
