The Honda Civic Type R FL5 exhaust in detail.
The most recent Type R in our catalogue, the Civic FL5, has been sold since 2023 with the K20C, a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 329 hp and 420 Nm. This page is dedicated to it; the FK8 that preceded it, the FK2 and the naturally aspirated EP3 and FN2 Type R each have their own, and we use your VIN to check compatibility before manufacturing.
On the FL5, the factory exhaust was designed for silence on board and regulations before sound, so the four-cylinder seems almost anonymous. With the valves open, the valved Rog cat-back gives it back a metallic presence at all revs and a high-pitched finale up to the red line; with the valves closed, the hatchback becomes as calm as a stock Civic again.
No welding for fitting, which takes about two hours with clamps and gaskets, and valves controlled by the factory switch if the FL5 has one, or by the Rog remote and its box in the trunk.
Under the “Manifold” option, the page sells the turbo-flanged downpipe that carries the catalytic converter. Fitted without an ECU remap, it only adds sound and a slight weight saving; with an ECU remap, the published Stage 2 figures for the FL5 reach 390 hp and 520 Nm. On emissions control, the 200-cell version keeps it on this Type R, the 100-cell one is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use, for FL5s entered in track days. The three round outlets come in 304 stainless steel or titanium, around 40% lighter, in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Honda Civic Type R FL5 2.0 exhaust.
Does my 2023 Civic Type R FL5 share the FK8’s system?
No, each has its own page and system. This one covers the FL5 sold since 2023; send us your Civic’s VIN and we will check compatibility before starting manufacturing.
Does the Civic Type R FL5 need an ECU remap to enjoy the system?
For the cat-back, no: the K20C keeps its map and its 329 hp. For power, it is the downpipe combined with an ECU remap at an approved tuner that leads to the 390 hp and 520 Nm published for Stage 2.
Civic Type R FL5 with a Rog system and vehicle inspection: what should I plan for?
Closed valves first, which bring the FL5 back to a stock voice. Original downpipe or 200-cell catalyzed: emissions control follows. The 100-cell is judged according to the car and the rules in your country; the decat version is a track part.
Stainless steel or titanium for the Civic FL5’s triple exit?
304 stainless steel favours robustness and a full sound, while titanium is around 40% lighter for the same design and brings a clearer tone at high revs. On the three tailpipes, titanium comes in brushed, gold or purple.
Honda Civic Type R FL5 2.0: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear muffler and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the highway.
Honda Civic Type R FL5 2.0: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
