    Which valved exhaust for a Mercedes-AMG C43 W205?

The Rog system for the facelifted Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC W205 is a valved cat-back exhaust for the W205 sedan, S205 wagon, C205 coupé and A205 convertible, built to your VIN in 304 stainless steel or titanium for the 390 hp twin-turbo V6. Valves open, the V6 regains its deep, muscular timbre; closed, the C43 stays a hushed sedan.

Sound, options and fitting in detail: our Mercedes-AMG C43 W205 guide.

The 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 is the gateway to AMG six-cylinders, and the 2020 and 2021 C43 W205 draws 390 hp and 520 Nm from it: crisp response, generous torque, proven reliability. Beware of namesakes: the C43 W206 that succeeds it moves to the 2.0-liter four-cylinder and has its own page, as do the C400 and C63 of this generation.

This V6’s natural tone is more interesting than what the factory lets through: deep and muscular, it is erased by mufflers designed for a conventional sedan clientele. With the Rog cat-back, valves open, the voice becomes full and assertive under load, with crisp crackles on the overrun, without ever becoming tiring. With the valves closed, the C43 becomes completely discreet again.

About two hours in the workshop, clamps, gaskets: the system made to your VIN fits without touching the bodywork. The valves follow the AMG modes if your car has them from the factory; otherwise, the Rog remote controls them on demand.

The page offers the “Manifold” option, which on this twin-turbo corresponds to the downpipe and its catalytic converter. The 200-cell downpipe keeps the V6’s emissions control; if you are considering the 100-cell, be aware that it is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and keep the decat version for track use, for which it is reserved. Without an ECU remap, expect sound, not power. 304 stainless steel suits the V6’s bass; titanium, around 40% lighter, adds more metallic harmonics at high revs.

    Questions about the Mercedes-AMG C43 W205 / S205 / C205 / A205 3.0 V6 turbo exhaust.

    Does this system fit a 2016 to 2019 C43 W205?

The page covers the C43 W205 from 2020 to 2021. For an older model, nothing is confirmed by our sources: send us the VIN and we check before manufacturing. Its replacement, the four-cylinder C43 W206, has a separate page.

    What is a C43 W205 worth at Stage 2?

The page publishes 430 hp and 650 Nm, against 390 hp and 520 Nm stock, with downpipe and a full ECU remap by an approved tuner. The twin-turbo V6 handles this work well. For the cat-back alone, no ECU remap is needed.

Is the C43 W205 fitted with the system presentable at the vehicle inspection?

Yes, with the valves closed and with the factory front section or the 200-cell downpipe: the V6 keeps a standard volume and its gases remain treated. The 100-cell depends on the vehicle and your country; in decat form, the C43 is kept for the track.

On a C43 W205, do the valves stay linked to the AMG modes?

If the car has factory valves, yes: the exhaust connects to them and each mode keeps its behavior. You may also prefer the Rog remote, which opens and closes independently of the selected mode.

Does the C43 W205 wagon, coupé or convertible take the same system?

Yes. The W205 sedan, the S205 wagon, the C205 coupé and the A205 convertible take the same Rog system: same chassis, same twin-turbo V6, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.

    Mercedes-AMG C43 W205 / S205 / C205 / A205 3.0 V6 turbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?

No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear muffler and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the highway.
