Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12: breaking its reserve, the exhaust system guide
With its 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 and its 560 hp, the Continental Flying Spur built from 2005 to 2012 combines the refinement of a great Bentley with a reserve of power that is rare for a saloon. Yet its factory exhaust has a clear mission: to silence the twelve cylinders. The following pages set out the ROG exhaust that gives them back their voice, from material to tips, without depriving you of silence when you want it.

The twin-turbo W12: twelve cylinders in four banks under the bonnet of the Flying Spur
The W12 in the Flying Spur combines two narrow-angle VR6 blocks on a common crankshaft, which fits twelve cylinders and 6.0 litres into a remarkably compact unit. Two turbos provide the boost. It produces 560 hp and 650 Nm, with torque that arrives very early and moves the big saloon with disconcerting ease. All-wheel drive puts that force down with no apparent effort.
On such a flexible engine, the exhaust is not about chasing horsepower: it decides the character the car displays. The factory exhaust was designed to hide the W12 behind the comfort of the cabin. The ROG valved exhaust keeps that comfort and adds what Bentley had held back: the muted rumble of the twelve cylinders, available at the touch of a button when the road and your mood are right.
What makes up the exhaust on your Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12
Here is what the ROG exhaust replaces, and where the sound is shaped.
The cat-back is the complete exhaust system
It is everything you can see under the chassis of your Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12, right through to the tips: pipes, silencer, valves. This is where our research and development is focused, and it is what shapes the sound. It fits without touching the engine or the ECU.
The figures for your Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12
On a modern car, an exhaust system first changes the voice, the breathing and the weight at the rear. Power, on the other hand, comes from an ECU remap.
Power
Torque
Published factory and Stage 2 figures.
Our exhaust systems work perfectly with or without an ECU remap. On your Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12, however, we recommend having one done at an approved tuning centre: that is what lets the engine reach its full potential.
Twin-turbocharged and built to handle high torque, the W12 keeps a reserve that a Stage 2 can tap into by working on turbo boost pressure and engine management. Every car responds according to its history and its maintenance. The ROG exhaust fits naturally into this kind of project.
Configuring your exhaust, step by step
3 choices, in the same order as the product page configurator.
-
Step 1 of 3: Material: stainless steel or titanium
For your Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12, the exhaust costs €3,990 in stainless steel and €4,990 in titanium.
304 stainless steel
3 990 €
- Weight
- Baseline
- Sound
- Full and rounded
The benchmark for high-end exhausts: tough, corrosion-proof, with a full, rounded sound. The choice of most of our customers.
Titanium
4 990 €
- Weight
- Around 40% lighter
- Sound
- Metallic, crystal-clear
Around 40% lighter than stainless steel for the same design, with a more metallic sound that turns crystal-clear at high revs. Its finish ranges from brushed to blued tints.
Over time, both hold up: 304 stainless steel stands up to winter salt and damp, and titanium does not rust. Stainless steel or titanium: what really changes.
-
Step 2 of 3: Valves: ROG remote or factory control
Two ways to control the valves on your Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12.
ROG remote

A small control unit fits in the boot. Two buttons, open and closed: the valves respond at any moment, whatever the drive mode. Simple to fit, and we stay on hand throughout the installation.
Factory control
- Only for vehicles fitted with factory valves
- Controlled by the drive modes
If your vehicle is fitted with factory valves, the exhaust keeps their existing control. The drive modes decide, just as they did from the factory, with no added electronics.
On the motorway, with the valves closed, the gases pass through the silencer, designed for cruising: no drone at a steady speed. You open up when you feel like it, not when the motorway decides for you. More about exhaust drone.

Step 3 of 3: Tips: the visual signature
Match the tips to the style of your Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12, understated or bold. A particular finish in mind? Send us a photo and we will look at it together.
- Stainless steel
- Black
- Carbon
- Blued titanium

The ROG sound signature on the twin-turbo W12
A twelve-cylinder has a voice all its own: a continuous rumble, with no jolts, that rises like a wave rather than in steps. In the standard Flying Spur, that voice stays buried under the silencers, and you hear only a distant murmur, even when you accelerate hard.
With the ROG exhaust and the valves open, the W12 breaks its reserve: a dense bass note on start-up, then a broad, silky rise that accompanies every burst of acceleration. With the valves closed, the saloon regains the discretion expected of a Bentley, to cross a city or cover a long journey in calm.

Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12: your questions
How much power does an exhaust system add to the Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12?
From the factory, the Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12 produces 560 hp and 650 Nm. An exhaust system on its own mainly changes the sound, the breathing and the weight; power is gained with an ECU remap. With a Stage 2 build, the published figures reach 656 hp and 788 Nm.
Stainless steel or titanium: which material for the Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12?
For the Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12, the ROG exhaust costs €3,990 in stainless steel and €4,990 in titanium. 304 stainless steel is tough, rounded in tone and the most popular choice; titanium is around 40% lighter for the same design, with a more metallic sound at high revs.
Is the ROG exhaust on the Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12 loud all the time?
No. With the valves closed, the gases pass through the silencer and the sound stays comfortable. With the valves open, the engine speaks freely. You switch from one to the other at any moment, with the ROG remote or the factory control if your vehicle has it.
Does the Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12 pass the French MOT with a ROG exhaust?
The ROG exhaust replaces the rear part of the exhaust, without touching the engine or the ECU. Present the car with the valves closed: it is the most discreet setting.
How is the ROG exhaust fitted to the Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12?
No welding or cutting, using clamps and gaskets. Allow two hours on average for a well-equipped mechanic. The exhaust is built for your VIN, which guarantees compatibility before it ships.
What does a ROG exhaust for the Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12 cost, and how long does it take?
From €3,990 to €4,990 depending on the configuration. Allow 20 working days from order confirmation to delivery. Free delivery in Europe and a 3-year warranty.
