Porsche Panamera 976 V6 biturbo: a GT that asserts itself, the exhaust system guide

The Panamera type 976 opens the third generation of Porsche's grand tourer, and its entry-level version relies on a 2.9-litre biturbo V6 with 353 hp and 500 Nm. This engine has a real voice, but the factory exhaust is designed to keep it discreet, at the risk of making you forget the car's sporting character. This guide presents the options of the ROG valved exhaust for your Panamera and what each one changes.

The 2.9 biturbo V6: the Panamera 976's entry-level engine

The 2024 and 2025 model-year Panamera 976 is powered by a 2.9-litre biturbo V6, with its turbos housed in the centre of the V. It produces 353 hp and 500 Nm, torque available early that gives this large saloon remarkable ease, whether for hard acceleration or a long motorway stretch. It is an engine that is both restrained in its manners and full of resources.

On a grand tourer like the Panamera, the factory exhaust plays the silence card, and the biturbo V6 pays the price: its character stays in the background. The ROG valved exhaust lets you bring it out whenever you like, without taking anything away from the car's refinement with the valves closed, and without touching the engine or the ECU.

How the exhaust on your Porsche Panamera 976 V6 biturbo is put together

Here is what the ROG exhaust replaces, and where the sound is shaped.

The cat-back is the complete exhaust system

It is everything you can see under your Porsche Panamera 976 V6 biturbo, all the way to the tips: pipes, silencer, valves. This is the part where most of our research and development goes, the part that shapes the sound, and it fits without touching the engine or the ECU.

Configuring your exhaust, step by step

3 choices, in the same order as the product page configurator.

  1. Step 1 of 3: Material: stainless steel or titanium

For your Porsche Panamera 976 V6 biturbo, the exhaust costs €3,990 in stainless steel and €4,990 in titanium.

    304 stainless steel

    3 990 €

    Weight
    Baseline
    Sound
    Full and rounded

The safe bet: strong, corrosion-proof, with a full, rounded sound. The best value for money.

    Titanium

    4 990 €

    Weight
    Around 40% lighter
    Sound
    Metallic, crystal-clear

It makes the exhaust around 40% lighter for the same design. Its note is more metallic and clearer higher up the rev range, and its finish ranges from brushed to blued.

No worries on durability: 304 stainless steel shrugs off winter road salt and titanium does not rust. Stainless steel or titanium: what really changes.

  2. Step 2 of 3: Valves: ROG remote or factory control

Two ways to control the valves on your Porsche Panamera 976 V6 biturbo.

    ROG remote

ROG remote for opening and closing the valves

A discreet control unit in the boot and a two-button remote: you open and close whenever you like, independently of the drive modes. For fitting, we support you by phone or by email.

    Factory control

    • Only for vehicles fitted with factory valves
    • Controlled by the drive modes

For vehicles fitted with factory valves: the exhaust connects to their control and the drive modes stay in charge, with no extra control unit.

At 130 km/h, many sports exhausts drone. Here, with the valves closed, the exhaust flows through the silencer and stays composed when cruising; open, it makes itself heard when you choose. More about exhaust drone.

  3. Step 3 of 3: Tips: the visual signature

Match the tips to the style of your Porsche Panamera 976 V6 biturbo, understated or bold. A particular finish in mind? Send us a photo and we will look at it together.

The ROG sound signature on the Panamera 976

The Panamera's biturbo V6 has a deep, full voice that takes on a sportier tone as it climbs through the revs. The factory exhaust deliberately keeps it discreet: inside and out, what the Panamera mostly lets you hear is its hushed rolling.

With the valves open, the ROG exhaust lets you hear the V6 gather revs, with a more present growl at start-up and a frank sound under acceleration. With the valves closed, the Panamera regains the calm of a great tourer that is its strength, for travelling far and serenely.
