Maserati Grecale Turbo: a voice for the trident, the exhaust system guide

The Grecale is the most compact SUV in the Maserati range, and its Turbo version relies on a 2.0-litre petrol four-cylinder with 300 hp and 450 Nm. Lively performance, in an SUV that wears the trident and carries the brand's entire sound heritage. The factory exhaust, however, is calibrated so that you do not hear it. The Grecale's 2.0 turbo: a four-cylinder beneath the trident

The Grecale Turbo is built around a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder. On the 2023 to 2026 model years, it produces 300 hp and 450 Nm, sent to all four wheels. The generous, early torque gives the SUV vigorous acceleration and a sportier character than its displacement suggests, while keeping the ease of an engine that is simple to live with every day.

At Maserati, sound has always been part of the cars' identity. On the Grecale Turbo, the factory exhaust goes against this tradition: it is calibrated to keep the four-cylinder inaudible. The valved ROG exhaust replaces it with no work on the engine or the electronics, and lets you give your Grecale a signature more in keeping with the trident, while getting back the factory calm at the touch of a button.

How the exhaust on your Maserati Grecale Turbo is put together

Here is what the ROG exhaust replaces, and where the sound is shaped.

How the exhaust system is laid out From left to right: the engine, then the ROG cat-back with its valved silencer and tips.ROG cat-back: the complete exhaustEngine
Valves closed: the silencer does its work and the sound stays discreet.Valves open: the direct path opens up and the engine finds its full voice.Schematic only; the actual routing depends on the vehicle.

The cat-back is the complete exhaust system

It is everything you can see under your Maserati Grecale Turbo, all the way to the tips: pipes, silencer, valves. This is the part where most of our research and development goes, the part that shapes the sound, and it fits without touching the engine or the ECU.

Your Maserati Grecale Turbo in figures

An exhaust system is judged first by ear and on the scales. The extra horsepower comes from an ECU remap.

Power

Factory300 hp
Stage 2400 hp

Torque

Factory450 Nm
Stage 2565.0 Nm

The ROG exhaust works with or without an ECU remap. To get the full potential out of your Maserati Grecale Turbo, we recommend taking it to an approved tuning centre afterwards.

The Grecale's turbocharged four-cylinder lends itself to a Stage 2 remap, which adjusts the boost and engine management to exploit the headroom left from the factory. On such a recent model, choosing a tuner who masters the on-board electronics matters as much as anything else, and no result is guaranteed in advance. The ROG exhaust completes this kind of project on the sound side.

Configuring your exhaust, step by step

3 choices, in the same order as the product page configurator.

  1. Step 1 of 3: Material: stainless steel or titanium

For your Maserati Grecale Turbo, the exhaust costs €3,390 in stainless steel and €4,140 in titanium.

    304 stainless steel

    3 390 €

    Weight
    Baseline
    Sound
    Full and rounded

The safe bet: strong, corrosion-proof, with a full, rounded sound. The best value for money.

    Titanium

    4 140 €

    Weight
    Around 40% lighter
    Sound
    Metallic, crystal-clear

It makes the exhaust around 40% lighter for the same design. Its note is more metallic and clearer higher up the rev range, and its finish ranges from brushed to blued.

No worries on durability: 304 stainless steel shrugs off winter road salt and titanium does not rust. Stainless steel or titanium: what really changes.

  2. Step 2 of 3: Valves: ROG remote or factory control

Two ways to control the valves on your Maserati Grecale Turbo.

    ROG remote

ROG remote for opening and closing the valves

A discreet control unit in the boot and a two-button remote: you open and close whenever you like, independently of the drive modes. For fitting, we support you by phone or by email.

    Factory control

    • Only for vehicles fitted with factory valves
    • Controlled by the drive modes

For vehicles fitted with factory valves: the exhaust connects to their control and the drive modes stay in charge, with no extra control unit.

At 130 km/h, many sports exhausts drone. Here, with the valves closed, the exhaust flows through the silencer and stays composed when cruising; open, it makes itself heard when you choose. More about exhaust drone.

  3. Step 3 of 3: Tips: the visual signature

Match the tips to the style of your Maserati Grecale Turbo, understated or bold. A particular finish in mind? Send us a photo and we will look at it together.

Exhaust tips for Maserati Grecale Turbo

The ROG sound signature on the Grecale Turbo

The Grecale's four-cylinder has an energetic tone, with a dry edge that thickens as the turbo starts to push. The factory exhaust keeps it at such a distance that you often forget what is going on under the bonnet, which is quite something for a car bearing the trident.

On the discreet side, with the valves closed, the Grecale keeps the refinement of a premium SUV, perfect for everyday driving and long journeys. With the valves open, it changes its tone: start-up makes itself known, every burst of acceleration comes with a richer sound, and the car finally speaks the language you expect of a Maserati.

Our recommendations for your Maserati Grecale Turbo

Every Maserati Grecale Turbo has its own history and use: if none of these profiles fits you, let's talk.

Maserati Grecale Turbo: your questions

How much power does an exhaust add on the Maserati Grecale Turbo?

As standard, the Maserati Grecale Turbo produces 300 hp and 450 Nm. The exhaust alone acts first on sound, breathing and weight; the extra horsepower comes from an ECU remap. With a Stage 2 build, the published figures reach 400 hp and 565.0 Nm.

Stainless steel or titanium: which material for the Maserati Grecale Turbo?

For the Maserati Grecale Turbo, the ROG exhaust costs €3,390 in stainless steel and €4,140 in titanium. Stainless steel is the safe bet, with a full sound; titanium makes the exhaust around 40% lighter and gives a more metallic note higher up the rev range.

Is the ROG exhaust loud all the time on the Maserati Grecale Turbo?

No, that is the whole point of the valves. Closed, the Maserati Grecale Turbo stays comfortable; open, the engine breaks free. You choose at any moment.
