The Porsche Panamera Turbo 970.1 exhaust in detail.
The Panamera Turbo 970.1 brings two worlds together, the space of a large four-seat sedan and the performance of a true sports car, thanks to a 4.8-liter V8 with direct injection and two turbos: 500 hp and 700 Nm, split between the axles by all-wheel drive. This page runs from 2009 to 2013. The Turbo S is not yet documented in our records: we therefore check it by VIN case by case.
Deep and powerful, this V8 rumbles darkly at idle then breathes ever deeper under load. From the factory, you only enjoy it under hard acceleration: the rest of the time, the standard exhaust reduces it to the silence of a luxury sedan. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back frees it at all revs, a rumbling start-up and full roll-ons; with the valves closed, the Turbo remains the business sedan everyone knows.
Under the “Manifold” option, the page replaces the catalyzed downpipe that follows the two turbos. On this 4.8-liter V8, the part only frees up horsepower with a suitable map, which takes the Turbo to the 609 hp and 814 Nm listed at Stage 2 on our page. Without a map, it brings sound, not horsepower, and ordered with 200 cells it keeps emissions control.
About two hours in the workshop, band clamps and gaskets: no welding is needed under the Panamera Turbo. Its factory valves keep their control, with the Rog remote only used on cars without them. Titanium, around 40% lighter than 304 stainless steel for the same design, can be ordered in brushed, gold or purple; at the back, the Turbo’s pipes can be dressed in stainless steel, black, carbon or blued titanium.

Questions about the Porsche Panamera Turbo 970.1 4.8 V8 biturbo exhaust.
My Panamera is a Turbo S from the 970.1 phase: can this Turbo page suit it?
Our reference covers the Turbo 4.8 of this phase without ever mentioning the Turbo S. That does not rule anything out: we read your sedan’s VIN before committing to manufacturing.
What can a Panamera Turbo 970.1 remapped with the downpipe aim for?
Over a hundred horsepower more than stock: our page quotes 609 hp and 814 Nm in Stage 2 with a downpipe and a new map. The map also recalibrates the sensor located after the catalytic converter, whereas the cat-back alone does not require one.
Before vehicle inspection, what should be returned to stock on a Panamera Turbo 970.1?
Close the valves, and the V8 becomes as discreet as stock. Keep the factory downpipe or its 200-cell version, and emissions control stays as standard. A 100-cell downpipe will be judged according to the car and the rules in your country, which accept it or not; a decat Turbo, for its part, is strictly for track use.
For business trips, does a modified Panamera Turbo stay hushed?
Yes, with the valves closed: the flow passes through the muffler chambers, designed for cruising, and the cabin keeps its sedan calm. The V8’s rumble awaits your signal.
Porsche Panamera Turbo 970.1 4.8 V8 biturbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear muffler and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the highway.
