The Dodge Viper GEN 4 V10 exhaust in detail.
An 8.4-litre V10, 600 hp without a single turbo, 813 Nm of hurricane-force torque: the fourth-generation Viper, built from 2008 to 2010, owes its legend to unapologetic brutality. Its factory sound is already impressive, but the silencers contain it; the engine keeps something in reserve.
With the valves open, the Rog valved cat-back unleashes this V10: a seismic rumble, a spectacular climb through the revs, a physical presence that belongs to the Viper alone. With the valves closed, it agrees to pretend to be civilised, for journeys where diplomacy is called for. This system is designed for the GEN 4, as the GEN 5 takes different parts, and each Viper is checked against its VIN before manufacturing.
Fitting with clamps and gaskets, without welding, in about two hours; the factory valve control is retained if the car has one, and otherwise the Rog remote, whose box sits in the boot, takes charge.
On the Viper, the “Manifold” option refers to the 8.4-litre’s front part, where the catalytic converters are located. On such a naturally aspirated engine, power is not the point: combined with an ECU remap, this part brings a real but modest gain, around 3 to 8%, and without one mainly better breathing. A Viper driven on the road will keep the 200-cell version, the only one that keeps emissions control; the 100-cell version will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use, on supervised track days. 304 stainless steel or titanium, the latter removing around 40% of the weight for the same design.

Questions about the Dodge Viper GEN 4 V10 exhaust.
Between the Viper GEN 4 V10 and the GEN 5, how do I avoid ordering the wrong one?
By checking the model year: this page covers the GEN 4 from 2008 to 2010, the 2013 to 2017 GEN 5 having its own, and we check your Viper’s VIN before manufacturing in any case.
With 600 hp from the factory, does the Viper GEN 4 V10 need a new map?
No. The cat-back fits a V10 left stock, and this engine is not short of power. With the front section, an ECU remap would bring a modest gain of around 3 to 8%.
Vehicle inspection with a modified Viper GEN 4 V10: what is the procedure?
Valves closed, plus the factory or 200-cell front section so that the catalytic converters stay active: the Viper then regains its stock voice. 100-cell parts will be judged case by case according to the country and the car, while a decat Viper does not leave the track.
Can a Viper GEN 4 with a Rog exhaust stay discreet?
As much as a Viper can be: with the valves closed, it returns to its factory level to cross a town or cover long distances. The V10’s rumble comes back with a single touch.
Does the Viper SRT-10 Roadster take the same system as the coupé?
Yes. The Viper GEN 4 coupé and roadster take the same Rog system: same chassis, same 8.4-litre V10, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Dodge Viper GEN 4 V10: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the full length of both silencers and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
