Mercedes-AMG CLA45 C117 Valved Exhaust (2014-2019)
Valves
Operated by remote control, paired in our workshop.
Estimated at 0.50 m from the outlet, 45°, 2,000 rpm with a warm engine. Allow ± 2 dB depending on the engine and measuring point. A 3 dB difference is audible in a direct comparison; 10 dB sounds roughly twice as loud.

The Mercedes-AMG CLA45 C117 exhaust in detail.
The CLA45 C117 four-door coupé launched, along with the A45, the hyper-hatch category. Under its bonnet, the M133: 2.0 litres, turbocharged four-cylinder, 360 hp and 450 Nm at launch, then 381 hp and 475 Nm from the 2016 phase. The page covers the 2014 to 2019 model years; the next generation, the CLA45 S C118 with the M139 engine, has its own system.
The factory had let this engine express itself a little more openly than on recent generations with a particulate filter, without going all the way. The Rog cat-back pushes the slider where Mercedes stopped: a full, aggressive sound, immediate presence at start-up, crisp crackles on the overrun, valves open. Once closed again, the CLA becomes an everyday car once more, very close to how it left the factory.
In the workshop, nothing irreversible: the system, designed from your VIN, takes the place of the old one thanks to clamps and gaskets, in roughly two hours. You control the valves through the AMG modes if your CLA45 has them from the factory, or with the two-button Rog remote. Here, the “Manifold” option replaces the downpipe and its catalytic converter, the pipe that restricts the M133 just after the turbo.
Three variants exist for this part. For everyday driving, 200 cells remain the logical choice since they keep emissions control. The 100-cell version, which the inspection accepts or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat variant, reserved for track use, are aimed at a different programme from that of an everyday CLA. Without a suitable map, none adds power. That leaves the material: 304 stainless steel for its robustness, titanium for its roughly 40% weight saving and its brushed, chrome, gold or purple finishes.

Questions about the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 C117 2.0 turbo exhaust.
Is my 381 hp CLA45 C117 compatible?
Yes, the page covers both power levels of the M133, 360 and 381 hp, from 2014 to 2019. 2013 cars are not listed in the supplier specification; for them, as for any other body style, the VIN lets us decide before manufacturing.
What figures does the page publish for a CLA45 C117 taken to Stage 2?
Two rows in the table: the 360 hp CLA rises to 420 hp and 560 Nm, the 381 hp version to 430 hp and 570 Nm, once the downpipe is fitted and the ECU fully remapped. The cat-back on its own fits without touching the ECU.
What should be planned before taking a modified CLA45 C117 to its vehicle inspection?
Close the valves for the inspection and the CLA returns to a volume close to stock. Cat-back alone or 200-cell, its catalytic converter stays active. The 100-cell is assessed according to the car and the country, and the decat version is reserved for track use.
Does the CLA45 C117 keep its AMG modes for the valves?
If the car left the factory with valves, the exhaust connects to their control and nothing changes in your habits. Otherwise, or if you prefer to decide without going through the drive mode, the Rog remote is installed with a discreet box in the boot.
