    A question about this exhaust?

    The Mercedes-AMG GLA45 X156 exhaust in detail.

The AMG four-cylinder has a sharp, almost metallic voice, with a furious grain when the turbo blows hard. In the factory GLA45 X156, all that remains is a muffled hum, far from the small SUV’s performance. This page concerns the 2015 to 2019 GLA45 X156, fitted with the 2.0-litre M133: 360 hp and 450 Nm, then 381 hp and 475 Nm with the 2017 phase, always with 4MATIC drive.

With the valves open, the Rog cat-back gives the GLA45 a presence worthy of its badge: urgent acceleration, pronounced gearshifts, a climb through the revs you can follow by ear. With the valves closed, the compact SUV becomes discreet again for town. The principle is simple: a valve in the silencer that chooses the path of the gases.

Your VIN guides manufacturing; at the garage, about two hours is enough to replace the old exhaust, held by clamps and gaskets, without welding. The factory valve control is retained if the GLA has one, otherwise the Rog remote takes over. The GLA45 S H247 that followed, with the M139 engine, has a separate page, as do the A45 W176 and the CLA45 C117, which share the M133.

The M133 downpipe, offered under the “Manifold” option, is the second restriction after the silencer. Chosen with 200 cells, it keeps the SUV’s emissions control intact. More open, with 100 cells, it will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country; without a catalytic converter, the version is reserved for track use. As long as the ECU stays stock, the benefit is limited to sound and a few kilos. For an SUV that faces winter, 304 stainless steel is reassuring; titanium, around 40% lighter, comes in brushed, gold and purple.

    Questions about the Mercedes-AMG GLA45 X156 2.0 turbo exhaust.

    Is my 2014 or 2020 GLA45 X156 compatible?

The 2015 to 2019 model years are covered; the 2014 and 2020 GLA45 X156 are expressly excluded from our page. For a borderline vehicle, the VIN decides: we check it before manufacturing. The GLA45 S H247 has its own page.

What gains are listed for a GLA45 X156 at Stage 2?

According to the page, 420 hp and 560 Nm for the 360 hp version, 430 hp and 570 Nm for the 381 hp one, with a downpipe and a full ECU remap. On an M133 that is already working hard, the tuner’s reliability matters. The cat-back alone requires no ECU remap.

Mercedes-AMG GLA45 X156 2.0 turbo with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?

Presented with the valves closed, with the cat-back alone or a 200-cell downpipe, it keeps its catalytic converter active and a volume close to factory. With the 100-cell, the outcome varies depending on the vehicle and local regulations; the decat version is reserved for track use.

Can you drive discreetly with the family in a modified GLA45?

Yes: with the valves closed, the gases flow through the silencer and the SUV stays as calm as it was on delivery, in town as on the motorway. You save opening them for the moments when you are alone at the wheel.

    Mercedes-AMG GLA45 X156 2.0 turbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?

No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
