Mercedes-AMGGLA35 / GLA45 S H247
The Mercedes-AMG GLA45 S H247 exhaust in detail.
The M139 is mounted rotated in its bay, with turbo and exhaust on the bulkhead side, and assembled according to the AMG “one man, one engine” principle. In the GLA45 S H247, this 2.0-litre twin-scroll turbo delivers 421 hp and 500 Nm, sent to all four wheels: a rare power density for a compact SUV. The H247 generation appeared in 2020; as our page, limited to this GLA45 S, does not set a precise range, your VIN serves as the reference before manufacturing.
Its voice is dry and furious, far hoarser than that of an ordinary four-cylinder, with a marked turbo whoosh. The factory exhaust, tuned for a versatile SUV, delivers a tamed version of it. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back brings out that grain, with clearly audible acceleration and crisp downshifts. With the valves closed, it is back to a civilised family SUV, close to its stock level.
No welding: clamps, gaskets, about two hours on a lift. If your GLA45 S has factory valves, the drive modes keep controlling them; otherwise, the Rog remote, two buttons and a box in the boot, does the job. The GLA45 X156 with the M133 engine and the GLA35 H247 have their own pages.
The “Manifold” option actually targets the M139’s downpipe, an engine that already runs under high boost from the factory. The 200-cell sports catalytic converter keeps emissions control. With the 100-cell, passing the vehicle inspection becomes a question of the car and the rules in your country; as for the decat version, it is reserved for track use. Without an ECU remap, the part only brings sound and a little lightness. 304 stainless steel or titanium? The latter is around 40% lighter and comes in brushed, gold or purple; the former bets on robustness.

Questions about the Mercedes-AMG GLA45 S H247 2.0 turbo exhaust.
Which years of GLA45 S H247 does this page cover?
The H247 generation has existed since 2020, but our page refers to the GLA45 S H247 2.0 turbo without a precise range of years. Each order is therefore checked against the VIN before manufacturing. The GLA45 without the S is not documented in our records.
Which Stage 2 for a GLA45 S?
Downpipe plus full ECU remap: the page’s table climbs to 490 hp and 600 Nm, from 421 hp and 500 Nm. On an engine already pushed this hard, the tuner’s caution matters. The cat-back on its own is happy with the factory ECU.
Mercedes-AMG GLA45 S H247 2.0 turbo with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
With the cat-back only or the 200-cell sports catalytic converter, emissions control is retained: present the car with the valves closed. The 100-cell brings more sound and flow, and whether it is accepted at the emissions test depends on the car and local rules; the decat version is intended for track use.
Stainless steel or titanium on the GLA45 S H247?
304 stainless steel is robust, round and the most common choice. Titanium lightens the system by around 40% for the same design and gives a more metallic note at high revs, in brushed, gold or purple.
Mercedes-AMG GLA45 S H247 2.0 turbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.

The GLA45 S H247 is a compact SUV hiding one of the most extreme engines in its class: the M139, a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 421 hp and 500 Nm, hand-built in Affalterbach. Its factory exhaust, however, filters out most...
