The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR exhaust in detail.
The last of the line, the Lancer Evolution X GSR is built around the 4B11: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with an aluminium block, variable valve timing and a turbo, delivering 295 hp and 366 Nm to all four wheels through a controlled all-wheel-drive system. The torque arrives firmly in the mid-range, and the car exits corners with formidable efficiency, in the dry as in the wet.
This engine has the voice of turbocharged four-cylinders born for competition: deep and gravelly at low revs, then sharp and furious higher up, punctuated by the whoosh of the turbo, which the Evo X’s factory exhaust only delivers in a polished version. With the valves open, the Rog valved cat-back gives the Evo X a hoarse start-up and a biting climb through the revs; with the valves closed, it becomes discreet enough for daily use.
The page is for the 2008 to 2015 GSR CZ4A, and that model alone; your VIN is checked before manufacturing. With clamps and gaskets, no welding, fitting takes about two hours, with the factory valve control retained if the car has one, otherwise the Rog remote.
Under the “Manifold” option, the page sells the front part that carries the original catalytic converter. On an Evo X that has remained stock, this part changes the voice and a few kilos; it is the map that turns it into power, and no Stage 2 figure is published on the page. For an Evo X driven on open roads, the 200-cell version remains the one that keeps emissions control, the 100-cell version will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use, for GSRs prepared for competition. The Evo X’s round outlets come in 304 stainless steel or titanium, the latter around 40% lighter, one more argument on a car designed for efficiency.

Questions about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR CZ4A 2.0 exhaust.
Can a Lancer Evolution X in a trim other than GSR take this exhaust?
Our parts only target the GSR CZ4A, from 2008 to 2015; for another Evolution X trim, send us the VIN and we check before building.
Does the Lancer Evolution X’s 4B11 accept the cat-back without an ECU remap?
Yes, the cat-back fits without touching the ECU. If you replace the front part, an ECU remap becomes the way to extract power from it; with no published Stage 2 figure, the result depends on the tuning.
Should the Lancer Evolution X GSR be presented to the inspector with the valves open or closed?
Closed, always, and with the original or 200-cell front part so that the catalytic converter works: the GSR then regains a voice close to stock. With the 100-cell, the outcome depends on the car and your country; the decat version is reserved for the circuit.
200-cell or 100-cell for a Lancer Evolution X driven every day?
The 200-cell, which keeps emissions control while improving breathing. The 100-cell, whose acceptance depends on the car and the country, is aimed at tuned and remapped Evo Xs.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR CZ4A 2.0: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR CZ4A 2.0: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
