The Nissan 370Z Nismo Z34 V6 3.7 exhaust in detail.
In the 370Z Nismo, the VQ37VHR gains a few horsepower and plenty of bite: 344 hp and 371 Nm, sent to the rear wheels only, from a 3.7-litre naturally aspirated V6 with the VVEL system, which continuously varies intake valve lift. It is in the last third of the rev counter that it shows its character.
Its voice is hoarse and metallic, very taut at high revs, and part of the legend of the Z coupés. The Nismo’s factory exhaust mostly keeps the low end and cuts the final climb short. With the valves open, the valved Rog cat-back lets the V6 rev freely to the red line, loud downshifts included; with the valves closed, the Nismo can come home late or cross a residential area quietly.
The page is for the 370Z Nismo, built to your VIN and checked before production; the standard 370Z has its own page. The Nismo gets its system in about two hours, without welding, and its valves stay controlled by the factory control if there is one, otherwise by the Rog remote.
The page offers manifolds under the “Manifold” option, with an integrated catalytic converter. On this naturally aspirated engine, the ECU remap has no forced induction to exploit: it refines ignition, injection and valve management, for a real but modest gain, around 3 to 8%. On a Nismo that is also driven every day, the 200-cell manifolds keep emissions control, the 100-cell ones will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use, at supervised track days. At the rear, the Nismo’s round tips switch to 304 stainless steel or titanium, the latter around 40% lighter and finished in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Nissan 370Z Nismo Z34 V6 3.7 exhaust.
Why doesn’t the 370Z Nismo Z34 use the standard 370Z’s system?
Because our parts for the Nismo are listed separately, the standard 370Z having its own page; your coupé’s VIN is checked before manufacturing.
On the 370Z Nismo’s VQ37VHR, what does an ECU remap do?
With no turbo to exploit, it refines ignition, injection and VVEL valve management, especially alongside the manifolds. The gain remains modest, around 3 to 8%; with the cat-back alone, it is not needed.
Before vehicle inspection, what should be checked on a 370Z Nismo with Rog manifolds?
That the valves are closed and that the manifolds fitted are the factory ones or the 200-cell: the Nismo then returns to a voice close to standard and active catalytic converters. 100-cell ones will be judged according to the car and your country; decat ones only run on the track.
Coming home late to a quiet neighbourhood, can a modified 370Z Nismo keep a low profile?
Yes: with the valves closed, it comes home without waking anyone and drives on the motorway without droning. The VQ only raises its voice at your request, via the factory control or the Rog remote.
Nissan 370Z Nismo Z34 V6 3.7: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.

Nissan 370Z Nismo Z34 V6: the VQ37VHR in full voice, the exhaust system guide
The 370Z Nismo is the sharpest version of the Z34 coupé: reworked aerodynamics, a stiffer chassis and a 3.7-litre naturally aspirated VQ37VHR V6 raised to 344 hp. This engine is just waiting to sing, yet the factory exhaust is designed...
