The Aston Martin DB12 / DB12 Volante V8 exhaust in detail.
On the DB12, the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 of AMG origin, retuned by Aston Martin, reaches 680 hp and 800 Nm. The factory exhaust, however, only lets out part of what it has to say: recent standards have imposed their filters, and it is the voice that pays the price.
The page is dedicated to the DB12 built since 2023. The DB11 V8 and V12 that preceded it each have their own system. We build to your DB12’s VIN and check it before starting production.
With the Rog valved cat-back, also known as a valve exhaust, the V8 rumbles deeply at idle and climbs with authority, punctuated by sharp bangs when you lift off. Closed again, the valves give the DB12 back its hushed elegance, as close to stock as possible. About two hours is enough for fitting, with no welding or cutting, using clamps and gaskets; the factory valve control is retained if it exists, otherwise the Rog remote takes care of it.
No front part on this page: the system installs after the factory catalytic converters, without an ECU remap, and does not claim to add horsepower to an engine that has no shortage of it. The choice comes down to the material, between robust, round-sounding 304 stainless steel and titanium around 40% lighter for the same design, which the DB12 can wear in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Aston Martin DB12 / DB12 Volante V8 4.0 exhaust.
Does the DB11 V8 system fit a DB12?
No, the DB12 has its own system, designed for cars built since 2023. The engine is from the same family, but we build to your VIN and check the DB12’s compatibility before production.
Do the DB12 V8’s 680 hp call for an ECU remap with the system?
No. The cat-back respects the 680 hp and the original map. It works on the V8’s voice and lightens the rear; the power, for its part, remains as from the factory.
Vehicle inspection: what precautions for a modified DB12?
Close the valves, nothing more. The front section and its catalytic converters stay original, as this page does not replace them, and the V8 then regains the discretion of a stock grand tourer.
Stainless steel or titanium to dress the DB12’s V8?
304 stainless steel gives a full sound and ages well under winter salt. Titanium lightens the system by around 40%, brings a more crystalline note at high revs and comes in brushed, gold or purple.
Does the DB12 Volante take the same system as the coupé?
Yes. The coupé and the Volante take the same Rog system: same chassis, same engine, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Aston Martin DB12 / DB12 Volante V8 4.0: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
