The Aston Martin Vanquish / Vanquish Volante V12 exhaust in detail.
The 2012 to 2018 Vanquish keeps a naturally aspirated V12: 568 hp and 630 Nm, twelve cylinders with a voice the whole world recognises, silky when cruising then screaming and crystalline at high revs. An engine that will no longer be built, and a factory exhaust calibrated for discretion.
With the valves open, the Rog valved cat-back releases the high harmonics the factory exhaust holds back; every climb through the revs becomes an event, right up to the final crescendo. With the valves closed, the Vanquish regains its grand touring refinement. Among the brand’s other naturally aspirated V12s, the DB9, the DBS and the Vantage V12 have separate pages, and each Vanquish is identified by its VIN before manufacturing.
About two hours are enough to fit the system under the Vanquish, with clamps and gaskets, no welding, with the factory valve control if the car has it, or the Rog remote.
The page also offers, under the “Manifold” option, the front part housing the V12’s catalytic converters. On this naturally aspirated engine, the quantified gains remain modest, around 3 to 8% with an ECU remap; what changes is the breathing, the response and the scale of the sound. A Vanquish travelling on the open road will keep the 200-cell version, a guarantee of emissions control; the 100-cell will depend on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat part remains confined to track use. 304 stainless steel or titanium, around 40% lighter, comes in three finishes.

Questions about the Aston Martin Vanquish / Vanquish Volante V12 exhaust.
Do a 2012 Vanquish V12 and a 2018 one take the same exhaust?
The page covers the V12 Vanquish throughout the 2012-2018 period, with figures of 568 hp and 630 Nm. We nonetheless check your car’s VIN before starting manufacturing.
On the Vanquish V12, does the engine management need to change with the exhaust?
It can stay stock: the cat-back works with it, and even with the front part an ECU remap would only add a few per cent on this naturally aspirated V12, the main benefit remaining the voice.
Before the vehicle inspection of a modified Vanquish V12, what should be checked?
That the valves are closed and that the front part is factory or 200-cell: a grand tourer voice, catalytic converters active. A Vanquish with the 100-cell will come under your country’s rules, and a decat Vanquish only runs on track days.
Stainless steel or titanium for the harmonics of the Vanquish’s V12?
Titanium, around 40% lighter for the same design, brings out the crystalline side of the V12 at high revs; 304 stainless steel gives a fuller sound and copes with winter.
Does the Vanquish Volante take the same system as the coupé?
Yes. The coupé and the Volante take the same Rog system: same chassis, same engine, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Aston Martin Vanquish / Vanquish Volante V12: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Aston Martin Vanquish / Vanquish Volante V12: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
