The Aston Martin Vantage / Vantage Roadster V8 AM6 exhaust in detail.
The Vantage AM6’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 comes from Affalterbach, but Aston Martin retuned it in Gaydon, right down to its exhaust. The result: an already expressive voice, which recent regulations have nevertheless restrained. On a 510 hp and 685 Nm sports car, sound is part of the deal, and some of it remains locked inside the standard exhaust.
This system is for the AM6-generation Vantage V8, from 2018 to 2023. The DB11 V8 and DB12, which use an engine from the same family, have their own pages. We build to your VIN and check compatibility before starting production.
Open the valves of the Rog cat-back, also known as a valved exhaust, and the Vantage responds with a deep idle, a climb through the revs full of authority and thoroughbred bangs every time you lift off; close them, and the grand tourer’s hushed elegance returns. Fitting needs neither welding nor cutting: clamps, gaskets, about two hours, with the factory control retained if your car has factory valves, or the Rog remote otherwise.
The page also sells the downpipe, under the “Manifold” option: on this twin-turbo V8, it is the part that carries the catalytic converter at the turbo outlets. Fitted on its own, it changes the sound and the weight, not the power; with an ECU remap, the published Stage 2 figures reach 639 hp and 830 Nm. For the Vantage, the 200-cell version keeps emissions control, the 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, and the decat version is reserved for track use, for Vantages run on closed circuits. As for materials, 304 stainless steel and titanium, around 40% lighter and finished in brushed, gold or purple, dress the Vantage’s round tailpipes.

Questions about the Aston Martin Vantage / Vantage Roadster V8 4.0 AM6 exhaust.
Does the Vantage V8 AM6 system also fit under a V8-engined DB11?
No. Even though the V8 4.0 twin-turbo is from the same family, each model has its own geometry and page: the DB11 V8 and DB12 have theirs. This one covers the 2018 to 2023 Vantage AM6, checked by VIN before manufacturing.
To free up the Vantage’s 4.0 V8, is an ECU remap necessary?
The cat-back fits and works with the factory map. To find more power, you need the downpipe and an ECU remap at an approved tuning centre: the published figures for this V8 then go from 510 to 639 hp.
How does a modified Vantage V8 AM6 present at vehicle inspection?
With its valves closed, and the reserve of a grand tourer. As long as the factory catalytic converter or the 200-cell downpipe is fitted, emissions control works. The 100-cell depends on the vehicle and local regulations; decat is reserved for the track.
304 stainless steel or titanium: which material for the Vantage V8 AM6?
304 stainless steel favours a round sound and robustness. Titanium, around 40% lighter, adds a more metallic tone at high revs and three finishes, from brushed to purple, visible on the round tailpipes.
Does the Vantage Roadster take the same system as the coupé?
Yes. The coupé and the Roadster take the same Rog system: same chassis, same engine, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Aston Martin Vantage / Vantage Roadster V8 4.0 AM6: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
