The Audi Q8 4M 55 TFSI exhaust in detail.
The Q8 55 TFSI gets the EA839, a 3.0-litre petrol V6 boosted by a single turbo installed in the vee. It is rated at 340 hp and 500 Nm, with torque available early that moves this large coupé SUV effortlessly, paired with quattro drive. This page covers the 2019 to 2023 model years and the 55 TFSI version only; the twin-turbo V8 RS Q8 has its own system.
A turbo V6 has a hoarser voice than you might think, with a metallic grain under acceleration and the whoosh of the turbo in the background. In the Q8, the factory exhaust leaves only a muted noise, decent but without personality. With the valves open, our valved cat-back gives the V6 a deeper, fuller tone that accompanies every burst of acceleration; with the valves closed, the original calm returns for family journeys.
The “Manifold” option sold here replaces the EA839’s downpipe, the part that leaves the turbo and carries the catalytic converter; parts manufacturers list it as identical to that of the SQ5 FY and the third-generation 3.0 Cayenne. For a Q8 used as much for holidays as for weekday journeys, the 200-cell downpipe is the most sensible, as it keeps emissions control; the 100-cell one is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat is reserved for track use. As long as Audi’s engine management stays in place, the 340 hp does not move.
Round tips finish a system that a garage fits without welding, with clamps and gaskets, in about two hours. If the Q8 left the factory with valves, the system takes over their control; otherwise, the Rog remote, with two buttons and a box in the boot, handles it. For this SUV, 304 stainless steel remains the most popular choice, with titanium bringing around 40% less weight and brushed, gold or purple finishes.

Questions about the Audi Q8 4M 55 TFSI 3.0 V6 exhaust.
Does the Q8 55 TFSI system also fit the Q8 45 TFSI?
Our data mentions several engines, but the page covers the 3.0 TFSI V6 version of the Q8 55 TFSI. For another engine, send us the VIN before ordering: we check what matches.
What does the page publish at Stage 2 for the Q8 55 TFSI?
The cat-back alone calls for no ECU remap. With the EA839 downpipe and a suitable map at an approved tuning centre, the page states 420 hp and 680 Nm, against 340 hp and 500 Nm as standard.
Vehicle inspection: does a modified Q8 55 TFSI have to return to its factory configuration?
No, simply closing the valves gives you back a V6 as discreet as on delivery. Its emissions control remains complete with the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe. Beyond that, the 100-cell depends on the car and the rules in your country, while the decat is for track use only.
On the motorway, does the equipped Q8 stay quiet?
With the valves closed, the gases flow through the silencer and the cabin keeps the calm of a large SUV at a steady speed. You open them on a clear road, whenever you want.
Audi Q8 4M 55 TFSI 3.0 V6: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Audi Q8 4M 55 TFSI 3.0 V6: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
