Which valved exhaust for an Audi RS Q3 8U?
The Rog system for the Audi RS Q3 8U is a valved cat-back exhaust in 304 stainless steel or titanium, built to your VIN for the 310 hp 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder, or 367 hp in Performance form. Valves open, the 1-2-4-5-3 firing order regains its odd, uneven rhythm; valves closed, the SUV becomes perfectly civilised again.
Sound, options and fitting in detail: our Audi RS Q3 8U guide.
A compact SUV and a five-cylinder: the first-generation RS Q3, type 8U, received the 2.5 TFSI turbo from 2013 to 2018, listed on the page at 310 hp and 420 Nm. This engine, voted best in its class many times, owes its sound to its 1-2-4-5-3 firing order, inherited from Audi’s quattro rally cars. Its successor, the RS Q3 F3, is covered on a separate page.
Yet the factory SUV holds it back: filters and silencers smother that odd-fire rhythm that gives it all its charm. With the valves open, our valved cat-back frees it, with a gust under acceleration and rich crackles on the overrun; with the valves closed, the SUV becomes perfectly civilised again for the school run or the office.
The page also offers, under the “Manifold” label, a downpipe for this five-cylinder, catalytic converter included. An RS Q3 that carries the family is better off with the 200-cell version, emissions control maintained; with 100 cells, it is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and in decat form, it is reserved for track use. As long as the map stays stock, it adds sound and takes off a little weight, with no extra horsepower.
This page is one of the models carried over without a detailed technical specification: your VIN is checked before manufacturing, version included. Fitting without welding, using clamps and gaskets, in about two hours; factory valves retained, otherwise the Rog remote. 304 stainless steel gives the five-cylinder a full voice, while titanium lightens it by around 40% and comes in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Audi RSQ3 8U exhaust.
Does this apply to my RS Q3 8U Performance?
The page lists the 310 hp, 420 Nm version. For a more powerful version, a VIN check is essential before ordering.
Does the RS Q3 8U need an ECU remap after fitting?
The cat-back alone makes do with the factory tune. With the downpipe, a new map at an approved tuning centre turns the freed-up flow into power; the page’s Stage 2 figure remains to be confirmed, so we do not quote it.
Vehicle inspection for the RS Q3 8U: should the factory exhaust be refitted?
No need: with the valves closed, the five-cylinder regains its stock discretion. The cat-back alone, or combined with a 200-cell downpipe, leaves emissions control as it was on delivery. With the 100-cell, everything depends on the car and the rules in your country; without a catalytic converter, the SUV is destined for the circuit.
On a long journey, does the RS Q3 8U’s five-cylinder fade into the background?
No, with the valves closed: the silencer absorbs the five-cylinder and cruising stays composed. The storm returns when you open the valves.
Audi RSQ3 8U: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Audi RSQ3 8U: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
