The Audi SQ5 FY 3.0 TFSI exhaust in detail.
The SQ5 FY keeps the displacement and power of its predecessor, 354 hp, but swaps the supercharger for a turbo and gains torque: 500 Nm available very early to move the SUV effortlessly. This page covers the petrol SQ5 FY from 2017 to 2025, with no extension to the TDI versions. For the supercharged SQ5 8R as for the Q8 55 TFSI, which shares this V6, see their dedicated pages.
On this turbo V6, the voice is rounder than on the old supercharged engine, carried by the whoosh of forced induction, and the factory exhaust reduces it to polite background noise. With the valves open, our valved cat-back makes the engine rumble at start-up and makes every burst of acceleration crisp; with the valves closed, the SUV becomes quiet again for town and long family journeys.
On the FY, the “Manifold” option corresponds to the downpipe of the V6 3.0 TFSI, the part that starts at the turbo with the catalytic converter; according to parts manufacturers, it is the same as the Q8 55 TFSI’s. Because an SQ5 is first and foremost for carrying a family, the 200-cell downpipe, guardian of emissions control, remains the most sensible; the 100-cell one is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use. Without an ECU remap, it brings sound and lightens the system a little, with the 354 hp remaining unchanged.
At the back, four round tips; in between, a system that connects with clamps and gaskets, no welding, in about two hours in the workshop. If your SQ5 has factory valves, the drive modes stay in charge; otherwise, the Rog remote controls them at the touch of a button. 304 stainless steel or titanium: the latter makes the whole system around 40% lighter and suits brushed, gold or purple finishes.

Questions about the Audi SQ5 FY 3.0 TFSI V6 exhaust.
Is the SQ5 Sportback FY covered by this system?
Yes, with the 3.0 TFSI petrol engine: the SQ5 and the SQ5 Sportback take the same Rog system, with the same clamp-and-gasket fitting. The European SQ5 Sportback, with its TDI engine, is not covered. Your VIN confirms the engine before manufacturing.
SQ5 FY at Stage 2: which figures are published?
The cat-back alone fits with the factory engine management. With the downpipe fitted and the map revised by an approved tuning centre, the V6 moves, according to the published figures, to 440 hp and 670 Nm.
Does the SQ5 FY need preparing before its vehicle inspection?
With the valves closed, for a sound close to delivery condition, and with full emissions control, meaning the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe. For the 100-cell version, everything depends on the vehicle and your country’s rules; without a catalytic converter, the SUV belongs nowhere but on a circuit.
Stainless steel or titanium on an SQ5 FY driven in winter?
Both hold up: 304 stainless steel resists salt and damp, and titanium does not rust. Titanium weighs around 40% less for the same design and gives a more metallic note at high revs; stainless steel keeps a rounder bass.
Audi SQ5 FY 3.0 TFSI V6: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Audi SQ5 FY 3.0 TFSI V6: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
