    A question about this exhaust?

The Bentley Flying Spur V8 ZG2 exhaust in detail.

The ZG2-generation Flying Spur receives a 4.0-litre V8 with its two turbos nestled in the vee, to shorten the gas path and make the response more direct. It delivers 550 hp and 770 Nm, considerable torque that arrives very early: overtaking happens with the pedal barely pressed. The saloons concerned were built from 2021 to 2024, and the older Continental Flying Spur W12 has a separate page.

This V8 naturally has a deep voice, with the characteristic eight-cylinder burble at idle, which the factory exhaust reduces to a murmur you sense more than hear. With the valves open, our valved cat-back releases a more assertive start-up and audible acceleration, with a broad sound that stays noble rather than aggressive. With the valves closed, the limousine becomes silent again, right up to a discreet arrival outside a hotel.

Further upstream, the page’s “Manifold” option corresponds to the V8’s downpipes: according to parts manufacturers, they are the same as on the Continental GT V8 of the same platform. On board a limousine of this standing, 200-cell downpipes are expected to keep emissions control, which they do; in 100-cell form, they are accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, and their decat version is reserved for track use. Without an ECU remap, it adds only sound and a little lightness.

The cat-back fits without an ECU remap or any work on the engine, with clamps and gaskets, in about two hours, and ends in round tips. The valves keep their factory control; without them, the Rog remote. 304 stainless steel and titanium, the latter around 40% lighter and finished in brushed, gold or purple, are both offered.

Questions about the Bentley Flying Spur V8 4.0 ZG2 exhaust.

Can the W12 or hybrid Flying Spur of this generation take the system?

Our page names the ZG2-generation Flying Spur V8 4.0, not the other engines. For any other engine, the VIN lets us look for a solution before you order.

Does the Flying Spur V8’s engine management need to be modified?

No, the V8 keeps its 550 hp and original engine management with the cat-back. The downpipes only translate into power with an ECU remap, for which no figure is published here for this saloon.

Bentley Flying Spur V8 4.0 ZG2 with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?

Close the valves, and the saloon becomes the silent lounge it was on delivery. The catalytic converters remain fully active with the cat-back alone as with 200-cell downpipes. With the 100-cell, the outcome depends on the car and the rules in your country; in decat form, the Bentley belongs on the track only.

On a long journey, does the equipped Flying Spur V8 stay relaxing?

Yes, as long as the valves are closed: the silencer works as from the factory and the V8 fades into the background. You only open the valves when the road and your mood are right.

Bentley Flying Spur V8 4.0 ZG2: Does a valved exhaust system drone?

No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.

Bentley Flying Spur V8 ZG2: a limousine that knows how to growl, the exhaust guide

The Flying Spur is Bentley's large saloon, built to eat up the miles in drawing-room silence. In V8 form, it relies on a 4.0-litre twin-turbo with no shortage of torque or character, but which the factory exhaust deliberately keeps muted....
