The Mercedes-AMG G65 W463 exhaust in detail.
Twelve cylinders under a square bonnet: the G65 W463 carries the M279, a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 signed by AMG, 612 then 630 hp depending on the version and 1,000 Nm from low revs. In a body-on-frame, four-wheel-drive off-roader, that force delivers acceleration that defies its silhouette. Launched in 2012, the G65 stayed in production until 2018, and every car is checked by its VIN before manufacture.
The voice of the AMG V12 is dense and velvety: twelve cylinders blended into one continuous rumble that grows richer under load. The factory system reduces it to a whisper, a paradox on such a flamboyant vehicle. Valves open, the Rog cat-back turns heads from start-up and gives a silky, massive roar under acceleration; valves closed, the G65 keeps the serenity of a luxury off-roader.
This listing sells the rear section only, valved: we have no front section for the V12, our only G-Class part being for the V8 G63, so the G65's factory catalytic converters stay in place.
Fitting in around two hours, clamps and gaskets, no welding, with four round tips. The valves follow the factory control when the G65 has one, or the Rog remote otherwise. The listing publishes 750 hp and 1,185 Nm at Stage 2, a figure that belongs to a full build beyond this system. Titanium, about 40% lighter for the same design, and 304 stainless steel are both available for this V12.

Questions about the Mercedes-AMG G65 W463 6.0 V12 biturbo exhaust.
Which model years of the V12 G65 W463 is this system designed for?
For the whole career of the G65 W463, from its 2012 launch to the end of production in 2018, in 612 as in 630 hp form. Your car's VIN is checked before manufacture, as for every Rog system.
Does the V12 ECU of a G65 W463 need to be touched to fit the system?
No: the system ends after the factory catalytic converters and the M279 keeps its mapping. The Stage 2 shown, 750 hp and 1,185 Nm, belongs to a full build where the drivetrain must keep up.
Mercedes-AMG G65 W463 6.0 V12 biturbo with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
The Rog exhaust replaces the rear part of the exhaust, without touching the engine or the ECU. Present the car with the valves closed: it is the most discreet setting.
G65 V12 or G63 V8 on the W463: what difference with the Rog system?
The G63's V8 rumbles and cracks on the overrun; the G65's V12 flows in a continuous, silkier and denser roar. The Rog system frees both, but only the G63 listing offers a front section.
Mercedes-AMG G65 W463 6.0 V12 biturbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.

Mercedes-AMG G65 W463: twelve cylinders for the G-Class, the exhaust system guide
The G65 sits at the top of the G-Class range: an off-roader whose silhouette has barely changed in decades, powered by a 6.0-litre biturbo V12. With 612 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque, it moves its bulk with unreal ease....
