    MercedesGLB X247

    The Mercedes-AMG GLB35 X247 exhaust in detail.

The GLB35 X247 is the AMG version of the GLB family SUV: a 2.0-litre turbo reworked to reach 306 hp and 400 Nm, combined with 4MATIC all-wheel drive, which puts the power down even on wet roads. The page is for the 2020 and 2021 GLB35; the GLB250, on the same body, has a separate system.

The 2.0 AMG has a hoarse, eager sound, punctuated by dry accents on gear changes. In the factory GLB35, only a smoothed-out version remains, far below what the badge on the tailgate suggests. The Rog valved cat-back, also known as a valve exhaust, gives it back a frank presence at start-up and a fuller note under acceleration; closed, it leaves the SUV its discretion for the big holiday getaways.

Made to your VIN, the exhaust takes about two hours to fit: clamps, gaskets, no welding on the body. The valves follow the factory control if the car has one, or the Rog remote, which opens and closes whatever AMG mode is selected.

On this engine, the “Manifold” option replaces the catalysed downpipe, which restricts the flow just after the turbo. Taken with 200 cells, it leaves emissions control intact; the 100-cell, accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version, reserved for track use, are aimed at uses other than family motoring. Without an ECU remap, the effect is on the sound. The choice of material remains open: 304 stainless steel for longevity, or titanium, around 40% lighter, if every kilo counts even on an SUV.

    Questions about the Mercedes-AMG GLB35 X247 2.0 turbo 4MATIC exhaust.

    Can a 2019 GLB35 X247 take this exhaust?

Our page covers the GLB35 X247 from 2020 to 2021; 2019 is not covered. Unsure of your car’s date? The VIN lets us decide before manufacturing. The GLB250 has its own page.

After fitting, does the GLB35 X247 need an ECU remap?

Not for the cat-back, which the electronic engine management accepts as it is. If you add the downpipe, an ECU remap turns it into power: the page publishes 370 hp and 510 Nm at Stage 2, against 306 hp and 400 Nm as standard.

Mercedes-AMG GLB35 X247 2.0 turbo 4MATIC with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?

Present it with the valves closed, with the cat-back alone or the 200-cell sports catalytic converter: emissions control is retained and the volume stays that of a standard SUV. The 100-cell depends on the vehicle and the country; in decat form, it belongs only on the track.

Why a valved system on a family SUV like the GLB35?

Because it leaves you the choice: valves closed for family journeys, in the factory calm; open when you drive alone, to finally hear the AMG four-cylinder.

    Mercedes-AMG GLB35 X247 2.0 turbo 4MATIC: Does a valved exhaust system drone?

No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.

Mercedes-AMG GLB35 X247 4MATIC: the family AMG, the exhaust system guide

The GLB35 is one of the most practical AMGs: a boxy compact SUV designed for families, but fitted with a 306 hp turbocharged four-cylinder and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Yet its standard exhaust, tuned for silence, cuts off its voice. This...
