Which valved exhaust for a Mercedes-AMG GLC43 X253?
The Rog system for the facelifted Mercedes-AMG GLC43 X253 (2020-2022) is a valved cat-back exhaust in 304 stainless steel or titanium, built to your VIN for the 390 hp, 520 Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6. Valves open, the SUV gains a full voice under load that never becomes tiring; closed, it is once again the comfortable everyday GLC.
Sound, options and fitting in detail: our Mercedes-AMG GLC43 X253 guide.
Between 2020 and 2022, the GLC43 X253 entrusts its 390 hp and 520 Nm to a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6, the gateway to AMG six-cylinders. The page is limited to this V6 generation: the more recent GLC43, now four-cylinder, is not covered. The four-cylinder GLC300 and the V8 GLC63, on the same X253 base, each have a dedicated page.
On an SUV, you do not necessarily expect this deep, muscular tone, which silencers designed for a conventional clientele almost completely erase. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back gives it back a full voice under load, with crisp crackles on lift-off, without ever becoming tiring; with the valves closed, the GLC43 becomes completely discreet again for everyday use.
Fitting, without welding or cutting, takes about two hours: clamps, gaskets, a system built to your VIN. The AMG modes control the valves if the SUV has them from the factory; otherwise, the Rog remote.
On the V6, this SUV’s “Manifold” option corresponds to the catalysed downpipe behind the turbos. With 200 cells, emissions control remains, which suits a family SUV. For the 100-cell, acceptance depends on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use, an unusual job for a GLC. Remapped with this part, the GLC43 reaches 430 hp and 640 Nm according to the page. Titanium, around 40% lighter than 304 stainless steel, gives a more metallic note.

Questions about the Mercedes-AMG GLC43 X253 3.0 V6 biturbo exhaust.
Can the four-cylinder GLC43 X254 take this system?
No: the page only targets the 2020 to 2022 GLC43 X253 with the twin-turbo V6, with no carry-over to the more recent 2.0-litre engine. Your SUV’s VIN lets us confirm before manufacturing.
Does an equipped GLC43 X253 necessarily need its map modified?
Not for the cat-back, which works with the original AMG engine management. If you add the downpipe, an ECU remap turns it into power: the table on the page reaches 430 hp and 640 Nm.
With a vehicle inspection coming up, what should be checked on an equipped GLC43 X253?
Closed valves and the original front section or the 200-cell downpipe: the SUV keeps a stock volume and active emissions control. In the 100-cell version, your GLC43 will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, which is worth checking beforehand. The decat downpipe, reserved for track use, obviously does not go to the inspection.
Does the GLC43 X253’s V6 sound like the GLC63’s V8 with the Rog system?
No: the V6 keeps a deep, muscular tone, drier, whereas the GLC63’s V8 rumbles and cracks on the overrun. The two SUVs also have separate systems and pages.
Mercedes-AMG GLC43 X253 3.0 V6 biturbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
