The Mercedes-AMG GLE63 W167 / C167 exhaust in detail.
The GLE63 W167 gets the 4.0-litre AMG V8, with turbos placed in the vee and hand assembly in Affalterbach: 571 hp and 750 Nm, torque that arrives almost instantly and gives this large SUV sports car acceleration. Our data targets the 2020 to 2023 GLE63, without mentioning the S version, which is therefore not covered by this page.
A deep, gravelly rumble that bursts out under acceleration: the V8’s voice is one of the most recognisable of its time, but the factory exhaust, calibrated for family use, keeps it at a distance. The Rog cat-back, valves open, gives the GLE63 a powerful start-up and a full sound with every roll-on; with the valves closed, the big family SUV reappears, in town as on the motorway.
About two hours in the workshop, clamps and gaskets, no welding: the system, built to your VIN, installs without modifying anything on the SUV. Depending on your GLE’s equipment, the valves stay on the AMG modes or switch to the Rog remote. Its cousins, the 5.5-litre GLE63 W166, the six-cylinder GLE53 and the GLE450, are covered on other pages.
This hot-vee V8 receives, under the “Manifold” option, a catalysed downpipe. The 200-cell version, which keeps emissions control, suits road and family use. For a 100-cell, acceptance will depend on the vehicle and your country’s rules; the decat variant, reserved for track use, is not meant to be driven on the open road with this SUV. No Stage 2 figure is published here. In titanium, the system weighs around 40% less than in 304 stainless steel for the same design, for a slightly more metallic sound.

Questions about the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 W167 / C167 4.0 V8 biturbo exhaust.
Does the system for this GLE63 W167 fit a GLE63 S of the same generation?
The S version is not yet documented in our records: this page targets the 2020 to 2023 GLE63 W167. For a GLE63 S, send us the VIN and we check compatibility before starting manufacturing.
Does a GLE63 W167 fitted with the downpipe need an ECU remap?
Yes if you want to get horsepower out of it: without a suitable map, the part only brings sound and a little lightness. The page publishes no Stage 2 for this version; the cat-back alone, for its part, requires nothing.
Mercedes-AMG GLE63 W167 4.0 V8 biturbo with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
With the cat-back only or the 200-cell sports catalytic converter, emissions control is retained: present the car with the valves closed. The 100-cell brings more sound and flow, and whether it is accepted at the emissions test depends on the car and local rules; the decat version is intended for track use.
In town, does the GLE63 W167 fitted with the system draw attention in spite of itself?
No: with the valves closed, it keeps the discretion it had when it left the factory, even in an underground car park. The V8’s rumble only returns at your request.
Does the GLE63 Coupé C167 take the same system as the SUV?
Yes. The W167 SUV and the C167 Coupé take the same Rog system: same chassis, same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Mercedes-AMG GLE63 W167 / C167 4.0 V8 biturbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
