The Mercedes-Benz GLC300 X254 exhaust in detail.
The GLC300 X254 built since 2024 launches the SUV’s new generation with the M254, a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder from Mercedes’ latest engine family: 258 hp and 400 Nm, with torque available very early that makes acceleration and joining fast roads enjoyable, loaded or not. The 2022 and 2023 model years are not proven on our page.
Its voice is dry and even, gains grain under acceleration and hints at the whoosh of the turbo; the factory exhaust reduces it to a vague murmur, drowned out by road noise. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back gives the GLC a rounder, more assertive sound, noticeable at start-up as well as when accelerating; with the valves closed, it becomes the serene SUV of the school run again.
The valved system, tailored to your VIN, replaces the GLC’s in about two hours, using clamps and gaskets, without a single weld. To control the valves, the SUV keeps its factory control if it has one; otherwise, the Rog remote takes over. The earlier GLC300, on the X253 platform, is covered on another page.
According to specialist manufacturers, the downpipe sold under the “Manifold” option is the one from the M254 family, shared by the GLC300 X254 and the C300 W206 saloon. In the 200-cell version, it keeps emissions control, which is what you expect from a family SUV. More open, the 100-cell will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version, reserved for track use, stays well away from the school gates. The page does not publish a Stage 2 figure for this GLC, and the material is a choice between 304 stainless steel and titanium around 40% lighter, available in three colours.

Questions about the Mercedes-Benz GLC300 X254 2.0 turbo exhaust.
My GLC300 X254 came out in 2023: am I covered by this page covering cars built since 2024?
Only cars built since 2024 are proven in our records; 2022 and 2023 remain to be checked. Your SUV’s VIN lets us check compatibility before starting anything.
To enjoy the cat-back, does the M254 in a GLC300 X254 need an ECU remap?
Not for the cat-back, which the factory management accepts as it is. With the downpipe, an ECU remap becomes the only way to extract power from it; no Stage 2 figure is published for this engine.
Mercedes-Benz GLC300 X254 2.0 turbo with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
With the cat-back only or the 200-cell sports catalytic converter, emissions control is retained: present the car with the valves closed. The 100-cell brings more sound and flow, and whether it is accepted at the emissions test depends on the car and local rules; the decat version is intended for track use.
Does the GLC300 X254 stay relaxing on long family journeys?
Yes: with the valves closed, the gases flow through the silencer and nobody on board gets tired. You only open them when the road and your mood are right.
Mercedes-Benz GLC300 X254 2.0 turbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
