The Aston Martin DB11 / DB11 Volante V8 exhaust in detail.
With the DB11 V8, Aston Martin fitted its grand tourer with the AMG-derived M177 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, retuned in Gaydon: 510 hp and 675 Nm, from 2017 to 2023. This version, not the DB11 V12 5.2 nor the DB12, is the one this page covers; each has its own. The system is built to your VIN, which we check before manufacturing.
The factory voice is already expressive, but regulations have added their filters. As soon as the valves open, the Rog valved cat-back brings out the M177’s bass at idle, gives every climb through the revs real authority and accompanies lift-offs with sharp bangs. With the valves closed, the DB11 V8 remains the hushed grand tourer for long stages, with no drone at a steady speed.
Clamps, gaskets, no welding: fitting takes about two hours on a lift. If the car has its factory valves, their control is retained; otherwise, the Rog remote and its box in the boot take over, with two buttons. This page does not sell a front section: the system fits behind the factory front section and its catalytic converters, with no ECU remap needed. For materials, two routes: 304 stainless steel, whose full sound suits the DB11’s V8 well, or titanium, around 40% lighter, supplied in brushed, gold or purple on the four round tailpipes.

Questions about the Aston Martin DB11 / DB11 Volante V8 4.0 exhaust.
Does this DB11 V8 system also fit the DB11 with the V12 engine?
No, the DB11 V12 5.2 has its own page and its own system. This one covers the 2017 to 2023 DB11 V8 4.0, M177 engine; your VIN lets us confirm this before building.
Without a front section, does the DB11 V8 need an ECU remap?
No, and that is actually the logic of this page: the cat-back fits an engine left stock. It acts on the voice, the breathing and the mass at the rear, not on the 510 hp.
Aston Martin DB11 M177 V8 4.0 with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
Simply close the valves. The original catalytic converters stay in place since this page does not touch the front section, and the sound returns to the hushed level of the stock car.
Once equipped, does the DB11 V8 stay discreet day to day?
Yes: closed valves keep the DB11 V8 quiet when cruising, and you only open them for a road that deserves it. Control is via the factory switch or the Rog remote.
Does the DB11 Volante take the same system as the coupé?
Yes. The DB11 Volante only exists as a V8, with the same M177 as the coupé, and takes the same Rog system, fitted with clamps and gaskets. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Aston Martin DB11 / DB11 Volante V8 4.0: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
