Which valved exhaust for an Audi A3 8V 2.0 TFSI?
The Rog system for the Audi A3 8V 2.0 TFSI (2014-2016) is a valved cat-back exhaust in 304 stainless steel or titanium, built to your VIN for the 190 and 220 hp versions of the EA888. The body style is confirmed by the VIN before production; valves open, the A3 gains a sporty voice, and closed, it keeps the calm of a premium compact.
Sound, options and fitting in detail: our Audi A3 8V 2.0 TFSI guide.
Audi tuned the A3 8V’s 2.0 TFSI for efficiency and quietness, so much so that many owners have no idea of the voice their hatchback hides. Freed from its superfluous silencers, this turbocharged four-cylinder from the EA888 family takes on a full tone, with clear crackles on the overrun. Our valved cat-back, also known as a valve exhaust, gives it two faces: open for character, closed for a level close to factory.
The page covers the 2014 to 2016 model years, in both 190 hp and 320 Nm and 220 hp and 350 Nm form. The body style is not specified: it is your VIN that decides, checked before production starts. The S3 8V, the RS3 8V and the next-generation A3 8Y each have their own page.
In the workshop, the system arrives ready to fit: band clamps, new gaskets, no welding, and about two hours on a lift for an equipped mechanic. Its round tips take the place of the originals. If your A3 already has valves controlled by Audi, the system takes over their control; otherwise, a small box sits in the boot and a two-button remote decides for you.
Here the “Manifold” option on the page refers to the downpipe, the pipe that leaves the turbo and houses the catalytic converter. If the A3 is used every day, choose it with a 200-cell catalyst, which keeps emissions control; the 100-cell will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use. As long as the ECU keeps its Audi programme, it translates into sound and a little less weight, never into horsepower. 304 stainless steel remains the safe choice; titanium lightens the system by around 40% for the same design and comes in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Audi A3 8V 2.0 TFSI exhaust.
Does this system apply to my A3 8V Sportback?
Our page describes a 2014 to 2016 A3 8V 2.0 TFSI without specifying the number of doors or the body style. Give us the VIN, field E of the registration document: we check compatibility before building, and point you to the S3 8V if that is your model.
After fitting, does the A3 8V 2.0 TFSI need a new map?
Not as long as you stick to the cat-back, which gets along very well with the programme delivered by Audi. An ECU remap becomes useful when you add the downpipe: for the 220 hp version, the published Stage 2 figures are 270 hp and 430 Nm. A sports catalytic converter can light up the engine warning light, which the remap also sorts out.
On vehicle inspection day, what should you know about an A3 8V fitted this way?
Close the valves before entering the testing centre and the sound level returns close to stock. With the cat-back alone, or paired with the 200-cell downpipe, the four-cylinder keeps its emissions control as it left the factory. A 100-cell may be accepted or refused depending on the car and the rules in your country, while a decat downpipe belongs on the track only.
From order to fitting, how long for an A3 8V?
Made to order from your VIN, it arrives in 20 working days after confirmation, with free delivery. After that, any garage with a lift fits it in about two hours, without modifying the rest of the exhaust.
Audi A3 8V 2.0 TFSI: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Audi A3 8V 2.0 TFSI: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
