The BMW M8 F91 / F92 / F93 exhaust in detail.
F91 convertible, F92 coupé or F93 Gran Coupé: the M8 is the top of the BMW M range, with the most refined version of the S63, a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with 600 hp, or 625 hp in Competition form, and 750 Nm. Built from 2019 to 2025, it pays for its luxury positioning with an acoustic price: it is probably the quietest BMW M ever built. The M850i with the N63 engine and the older M6 F1x have their respective pages.
BMW tuned its exhaust for cruising: particulate filter, generous silencers and electronic sound enhancement in the cabin. On a GT, some discretion makes sense; making it permanently compulsory does not. With the valves closed, the Rog cat-back leaves you the hushed M8 you bought; with the valves open, the S63 unleashes a deep, rich rumble, an authoritative climb and clear crackles on the overrun.
Fitting is done without welding on all three body styles: clamps, gaskets, about two hours, for a system bent to your VIN, with the factory valve control kept or the Rog remote installed.
The “Manifold” option sells the S63’s downpipes with their catalytic converters; with a factory map, they bring voice and a slight weight saving, with power still tied to an ECU remap. On the most luxurious of the M cars, the 200-cell downpipes are the obvious choice to keep emissions control; with 100 cells, the GT is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use. As for material, 304 stainless steel takes care of the bass, while titanium, around 40% lighter, takes care of the scales.

Questions about the BMW M8 F91 / F92 / F93 4.4T exhaust.
M8 or M8 Competition, convertible, coupé or Gran Coupé: a single system?
Yes, all three body styles and both versions are listed on the page from 2019 to 2025; send us the VIN and we will check before building.
What is published for an M8 at Stage 2?
810 hp and 1,100 Nm, for the 600 hp version as well as the Competition, with downpipes and a remap at an approved tuner; the cat-back alone does not touch the ECU.
BMW M8 F91 / F92 / F93 4.4T with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
With the cat-back only or the 200-cell sports catalytic converter, emissions control is retained: present the car with the valves closed. The 100-cell brings more sound and flow, and whether it is accepted at the emissions test depends on the car and local rules; the decat version is intended for track use.
Does the M8’s electronic sound enhancement stay active?
The system does not modify the electronics; with the valves open, it is the real sound of the S63 that comes out of the exhaust, far more convincing than the version played in the cabin.
Does such a fast M8 really benefit from the Rog exhaust?
Its transformation is as much about character as figures: the voice finally lives up to the badge, without taking anything away from GT comfort with the valves closed.
BMW M8 F91 / F92 / F93 4.4T: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
BMW M8 F91 / F92 / F93 4.4T: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
