The BMW X5 M60i G05 LCI exhaust in detail.
As the V8 becomes a rarity, the facelifted X5 M60i keeps one: a 4.4-litre twin-turbo with the turbos housed between the cylinder banks, backed by mild hybrid assistance at pull-away and when accelerating, for 530 hp and 750 Nm. The front section is documented in our records from 2023 to 2026. According to the guide, the facelifted X6 M60i shares the system but keeps its own page; the pre-facelift X5 M50i has its own too.
This V8 has a deep voice, with the burble typical of eight-cylinders and a rumble that grows richer on deceleration; in the standard M60i, it is reduced to a dull vibration, noticeable mainly at full load, as if the SUV were deliberately hiding what goes on under the bonnet. With the valves open, our cat-back gives the V8 back its depth: an audible start-up, broad acceleration and lift-offs that rumble; with the valves closed, the hushed silence of a touring car returns.
Nothing in the hybrid system is modified: the system, bent to your VIN, is fixed without welding with clamps and gaskets in about two hours, and its valves follow the factory control or the Rog remote.
The “Manifold” option sells the front section that follows the turbos; on its own, it changes the voice and the weight, with power remaining a matter for an ECU remap. On such a recent hybrid V8, the 200-cell front section remains the logical choice, as it keeps emissions control; the 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use. 304 stainless steel or titanium around 40% lighter for the cat-back.

Questions about the BMW X5 M60i G05 LCI 4.4TT exhaust.
My facelifted X5 M60i dates from 2023 or 2025: does the system suit it?
The cat-back and the front part are documented from 2023 to 2026; send us your X5’s VIN and we check compatibility before building.
Does the X5 M60i’s ECU need touching after fitting?
No, the cat-back works with the original engine management, hybrid system included; an ECU remap is only justified with the front section, and we do not quote a Stage 2 figure for this model until it is confirmed.
BMW X5 M60i LCI 4.4TT with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
With the cat-back only or the 200-cell sports catalytic converter, emissions control is retained: present the car with the valves closed. The 100-cell brings more sound and flow, and whether it is accepted at the emissions test depends on the car and local rules; the decat version is intended for track use.
Is the X5 M60i’s mild-hybrid system affected by the exhaust?
No: the system only replaces the rear section of the exhaust, without changing anything about the electric assistance or its management.
Facelifted X5 M60i or X6 M60i: the same exhaust?
The guide groups them, with only the roof separating the two facelifted SUVs; we keep a page for each and check your VIN before anything goes into production.
BMW X5 M60i G05 LCI 4.4TT: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
BMW X5 M60i G05 LCI 4.4TT: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.

BMW X5 M60i and X6 M60i G06 LCI: a mild hybrid V8 to set free, the exhaust guide
At a time when the V8 is becoming a rarity, the facelifted X5 M60i and X6 M60i LCI still have one: a 4.4-litre biturbo, backed by mild hybrid assistance, for 530 hp and 750 Nm. Sports car figures, but a...
