The Dodge Challenger R/T 5.7 exhaust (2016 to 2022) in detail.
On the 2016 to 2022 Challenger R/T, the factory exhaust was tuned for daily use, to the point of making the HEMI surprisingly discreet for a muscle car. You sense the V8, you do not feel it: the choppy rhythm of the idle is there, the depth has gone.
This page is for the R/T with the 5.7-litre naturally aspirated HEMI V8 from this period: 377 to 380 hp and 542 to 556 Nm depending on the version, with generous torque from the very first revs. There is a dedicated page for the previous generation, from 2009 to 2014, as well as for the supercharged Hellcat. Send us your VIN: we check compatibility before manufacturing.
With the Rog valved cat-back, also called a valve exhaust, the idle gains body and every acceleration releases a deep rumble that grows with speed. Closed again, the valves calm the Challenger down to cross a residential area or eat up the motorway. Fitting is done with clamps and gaskets, no welding, in about two hours; the factory valve control is retained if it exists, otherwise the Rog remote takes over.
For those tuning the engine, the page sells the HEMI’s manifolds, under the “Manifold” option, with the catalytic converter they incorporate. Combined with an ECU remap, they bring a real but modest gain, as on any naturally aspirated V8; on their own, they mainly change the sound. On this R/T, the 200-cell manifolds preserve emissions control, the 100-cell ones are accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, and the decat version is reserved for track use, whether a quarter mile or a closed circuit. The round exits come in 304 stainless steel or titanium around 40% lighter, in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Dodge Challenger R/T V8 5.7 exhaust.
Does the 2016-2022 Challenger R/T system fit an older R/T?
No, the 2009 to 2014 R/Ts have a separate page. This one targets the 2016-2022 period; if your Challenger is a transition model year, your VIN lets us check before building.
Once the cat-back is fitted, does the Challenger’s HEMI 5.7 need an ECU remap?
No. The cat-back works with the HEMI 5.7’s factory map. An ECU remap only makes sense with the manifolds, and on this naturally aspirated V8 the gain remains modest: it is above all the character that changes.
Dodge Challenger R/T HEMI V8 5.7 with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
Present it with the valves closed: the V8 becomes as well-behaved as when it left the factory. With the factory catalytic converter or 200-cell manifolds, emissions control follows. The 100-cell depends on the vehicle and local rules, and the decat version remains confined to the track.
Does the Challenger R/T V8 drone at a steady speed?
With the valves closed, no: the system keeps the cabin calm on long journeys, which matters on a car so often used for travelling. You open them again when the road is worth it.
Dodge Challenger R/T V8 5.7: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.

Dodge Challenger R/T V8: the HEMI rumble restored, the exhaust system guide
The Challenger R/T is a muscle car in the purest American tradition: a long bonnet, rear-wheel drive and a 5.7-litre naturally aspirated HEMI V8. You expect a car like this to rumble. Yet on the 2016 to 2022 model years,...
