The Dodge Charger R/T V8 5.7 exhaust (2011) in detail.
The 2011 Charger R/T has an engine that deserves to be heard, and a factory exhaust that smothers almost everything it has to say. Its 5.7-litre naturally aspirated HEMI V8, 375 hp and 536 Nm, still carries the signature of American V8s: a choppy idle, then a deep rumble that swells without ever whistling.
This page only covers the 2011 model year. The 2009 and 2010 Charger R/T, with 373 hp, have their own page, as do the Chargers with the V8 6.4. The system is built to your VIN; we check compatibility before starting production.
With the valves open, the Rog valved cat-back gives volume back to the idle and makes every acceleration rumble; downshifts roll like thunder. With the valves closed, the Charger regains the calm of a large saloon. No welding is needed: clamps, gaskets, about two hours on a lift. If factory valves are present, their control is retained; otherwise, the Rog remote operates the opening.
The “Manifold” option on the page replaces the HEMI’s manifolds, which have the catalytic converter built in. Without an ECU remap, expect more sound; with one, a real but modest gain of around 3 to 8% on this naturally aspirated engine. For the 2011 Charger, emissions control is kept with 200 cells, the 100-cell version will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use, far from the daily journeys of this large saloon. All that remains is to choose the material: full-sounding 304 stainless steel or titanium around 40% lighter, in a brushed, gold or purple finish.

Questions about the Dodge Charger R/T V8 5.7 exhaust.
Why a separate page for the 2011 Charger R/T V8?
Because the system is defined by model year: the 375 hp 2011 has its own page, separate from that of the 2009 and 2010. In every case, your Charger’s VIN lets us confirm compatibility before manufacturing.
Does the 2011 Charger R/T’s HEMI 5.7 need an ECU remap?
Not for the cat-back: the HEMI keeps its map. If you move to the manifolds, an ECU remap at an approved tuner can convert the freed-up flow, for a gain that this naturally aspirated V8 limits to a few per cent.
Vehicle inspection: is a modified 2011 Charger R/T V8 presentable?
Yes, with the valves closed, with a sound close to standard. Factory manifolds or the 200-cell version: the catalytic converters are working. The 100-cell is assessed depending on the vehicle and the country’s rules; the decat version belongs on the track only.
Does the 2011 Charger R/T V8 drone on the motorway?
No, with the valves closed: that is the cruising position, with a calm cabin. The show only starts when you open them again, via the factory control or the Rog remote.
