Which valved exhaust for a Honda Civic Type R FN2?
The Rog system for the Honda Civic Type R FN2 (2007-2011) is a valved cat-back exhaust in 304 stainless steel or titanium, built to your VIN for the 201 hp naturally aspirated VTEC four-cylinder. It does not fit the EP3, which has its own product page; valves open, the VTEC crossover screams to the redline, and closed, the FN2 stays discreet.
Sound, options and fitting in detail: our Honda Civic Type R FN2 guide.
A naturally aspirated Type R produced from 2007 to 2011, the Civic FN2 stays true to VTEC: 201 hp and 193 Nm, an engine that is civilised low down and turns into a racing unit once the cams switch over. The restrained factory exhaust keeps that moment at a distance.
With the valves open, the Rog valved cat-back turns the VTEC crossover into an event, howling and metallic all the way to the red line; with the valves closed, the Honda’s discreet reliability takes the wheel again, for getting to work without being noticed. The page is for the FN2; the EP3, FK2, FK8 and FL5 each have their own page, and your VIN is checked before manufacturing.
The system installs in about two hours, with clamps and gaskets, without welding, with the factory valve control if the car has one, or the Rog remote.
Under the “Manifold” option, the page sells the front section that carries the catalytic converter, just after the engine. On a naturally aspirated VTEC, a combined ECU remap gives a real but modest gain, around 3 to 8%; the voice, however, changes completely. Because an FN2 is still often driven every day, the 200-cell version, which keeps emissions control, remains the most logical; the 100-cell version will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use. 304 stainless steel or titanium, the latter around 40% lighter.

Questions about the Honda Civic Type R FN2 exhaust.
Are the EP3 and the Civic Type R FN2 exhaust systems interchangeable?
No: the two generations each have their own parts and page, and we check the VIN of your FN2, built between 2007 and 2011, before starting manufacturing.
On the Civic Type R FN2, is a suitable map needed?
The cat-back works very well with the FN2’s factory engine management; with the front section, an ECU remap adds a few per cent, around 3 to 8%; the real change remains in the sound.
Modified Civic Type R FN2: how should I approach vehicle inspection?
By closing the valves and keeping the original or 200-cell front section: a voice close to stock, catalytic converter active. The 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the car and your country; in decat form, the FN2 stays on the track.
Which material best accompanies the VTEC scream on the Civic Type R FN2?
304 stainless steel favours robustness and a full sound. Titanium, around 40% lighter for the same design, emphasises the metallic side of VTEC at high revs and comes in three colours.
Honda Civic Type R FN2: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Honda Civic Type R FN2: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
