The McLaren 570S / 570S Spider / 570GT exhaust in detail.
The entry point to the Sports Series range, the 570S gets a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8: 570 hp and 600 Nm, for the 2015 to 2018 model years on our page. The 570S Spider and the 570GT take the same system as the 570S; for a 540C or a 600LT, we check compatibility against the VIN before building. The 720S and the 650S have their own system.
Woking long favoured pure performance over theatre, and that is the criticism levelled at McLarens: it comes from the factory exhaust, not the engine. With the valves open, the valved Rog cat-back reveals a technical, furious rumble, makes the turbos’ breathing audible and makes lift-offs crack. With the valves closed, the 570S regains its everyday discretion.
The page offers the downpipe, which runs from the turbo and contains the catalytic converter, under the “Manifold” option. Without an ECU remap, it only gives sound and a little weight saving. With one, the 570S targets the Stage 2 figures published on the page, 710 hp and 820 Nm, and the 200-cell version keeps treating emissions.
The compact rear of the 570S requires no welding: clamps, gaskets and about two hours in the workshop are enough. Factory valves are retained along with their control; if the car has none, the Rog remote takes their place. Titanium weighs around 40% less than 304 stainless steel for the same design, a strong argument on a McLaren; it comes in brushed, gold or purple, while stainless steel offers a rounder sound.

Questions about the McLaren 570S / 570S Spider / 570GT 3.8 V8 biturbo exhaust.
Does the 570S system fit a 570GT or a 540C?
The 570GT, yes: it takes the same Rog system as the 570S coupé and the 570S Spider, with the same 3.8-litre 570 hp V8. The 540 hp 540C is not covered by this page: for it, your VIN lets us check before manufacturing.
Downpipe and ECU remap: how far can a 570S go?
Nothing is needed with the cat-back alone. With the downpipe, the map turns the flow into power and recalibrates the post-cat sensor; the page publishes 710 hp and 820 Nm at Stage 2, compared with 570 hp and 600 Nm from the factory.
My fitted 570S is due for its vehicle inspection: in what configuration?
With the valves closed, the V8 regains a discretion close to factory. The 200-cell downpipe or the factory front section retain emissions control. Fitted in 100-cell form, the downpipe is accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules; a decat 570S is reserved for track use.
Does the 570S keep its drive modes for the valves?
If it has factory valves, yes: the exhaust takes over their control and the drive modes decide, with no added electronics. Otherwise, the Rog remote lets you open or close them at any time.
McLaren 570S / 570S Spider / 570GT 3.8 V8 biturbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
