The Mercedes-AMG C63 W205 / S205 exhaust in detail.
The C63 W205 is the last C-Class with a V8 engine: a 4.0-litre twin-turbo built in Affalterbach, with its turbos inside the V, delivering 476 hp and 650 Nm in the C63 and 510 hp and 700 Nm in the C63 S. This page covers the 2015 to 2020 model years of the W205 saloon and the S205 estate, facelift included.
The AMG V8 has a sound identity known around the world: a deep, rolling thunder, punctuated by sharp bangs on the overrun. The turbos already absorb part of it, and the factory exhaust finishes making it polite. Our valved cat-back removes what stifles it: open, the rumble returns in full; closed, the V8 becomes hushed again and the C63 regains the manners of a limousine, with a sound level close to how it left the factory.
The system is built to your VIN and fits with no welding or cutting, using clamps and gaskets, in about two hours for an equipped workshop. You control the valves your way: through the Mercedes drive modes, if it has its factory valves, or with the Rog remote, which opens and closes them whatever programme is selected.
To go beyond sound, the “Manifold” option replaces the V8’s front section, the downpipe that contains the catalytic converter: on this twin-turbo, it is the part that restricts the most. With 200 cells, the gases are still treated; at 100 cells or without a catalytic converter, they are no longer treated as they were from the factory. As long as the map remains AMG’s, this part enriches the sound and lightens the system a little, without adding horsepower. In 304 stainless steel, the system is robust with a round sound; in titanium, it loses around 40% of its weight and comes in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Mercedes-AMG C63 / C63 S W205 / S205 4.0 V8 biturbo exhaust.
S205 estate, C205 coupé or A205 convertible: are they compatible?
The S205 estate, yes: it takes the same Rog system as the W205 saloon. The C205 coupé and the A205 convertible have a wider rear track and their own rear section: for them, send us the VIN before ordering, we check and reply within 24 hours, with no obligation.
Does the C63 S need an ECU remap?
The cat-back alone does perfectly well without one: the V8 keeps its Mercedes map. Everything changes if you also fit the downpipe, because the map is what turns that flow into horsepower; for the 510 hp C63 S, the published Stage 2 figures are 620 hp and 850 Nm. Without a catalytic converter, an ECU remap becomes necessary to turn off the engine warning light.
And what about vehicle inspection with a C63 W205?
On inspection day, close the valves: the V8 returns to a murmur close to stock. The C63 keeps all its exhaust after-treatment as long as it runs with the original front section or the 200-cell sport catalytic converter. Beyond that, the 100-cell depends on the car and the country, and the decat version never leaves the circuit.
Does the system drone on the motorway?
With the valves closed, the exhaust gases flow through the silencer, which is designed for cruising: no drone at a steady speed. You open them whenever you like, through the drive modes or the Rog remote.
How long until the system for my C63 arrives?
