The Mercedes-Benz C400 W205 / S205 / C205 / A205 exhaust in detail.
Understated in its looks, the 2015-2018 C400 W205 hides a 333 hp, 480 Nm twin-turbo V6 with direct injection: thick torque, available early, giving the C-Class the roll-on pace of a sports car. Nothing in its silhouette or its sound gives it away, and that is precisely the problem.
This V6 has a deeper, more robust voice than the four-cylinders in the range, with a grain that hardens under load. The factory exhaust, true to the C-Class philosophy of comfort, neutralises it. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back reveals it: an assertive start-up, full-bodied acceleration, emphasised pick-up. With the valves closed, the saloon regains its restraint over long distances.
This valved system is built to your VIN, then fitted without welding, using clamps and gaskets, in about two hours. It uses the factory valve control if the car has one, otherwise it comes with the Rog remote. The page is for the C400; the C450 is not included, and the C200, C300, C43 and C63 of the W205 generation each have their own page.
On this twin-turbo, the “Manifold” option replaces the catalysed downpipe that follows the turbos. On the C400, three levels: 200 cells, which preserve emissions control and suit the road; 100 cells, whose acceptance depends on the car and the rules in your country; and finally the decat version, reserved for track use. Extra power only comes with an ECU remap. 304 stainless steel for robustness, titanium for around 40% less weight and its three finishes.

Questions about the Mercedes-Benz C400 W205 / S205 / C205 / A205 V6 exhaust.
Does the system designed for the C400 W205 fit a C450 AMG?
No, our page names only the C400 W205 and excludes the C450. The C43 AMG and C63 of the same generation have their own page. To remove any doubt, send us your VIN before ordering.
What does a remapped C400 W205 gain?
The C400’s Stage 2 table states 420 hp and 600 Nm, against 333 hp and 480 Nm as standard, provided you combine the downpipe with a full ECU remap. The cat-back alone makes do with the factory map and only affects the sound and the weight.
C400 W205: what should I know before vehicle inspection?
Presented with the valves closed, it stays as sober as a standard saloon. The factory emissions control remains with the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe. For the 100-cell version, the decision lies with the inspector depending on the vehicle and the country; the decat version is reserved for track use.
Does the C400 stay comfortable on long journeys?
Yes, the saloon keeps its touring manners: with the valves shut, the silencer absorbs the flow and no drone sets in at a steady speed.
Saloon, estate, coupé or convertible: does the C400 W205 take the same system?
Yes. The W205 saloon, the S205 estate, the C205 coupé and the A205 convertible take the same Rog system: same chassis, same V6, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
