The Mercedes-Benz C200 and C300 W205 / S205 / C205 / A205 exhaust in detail.
Two versions, one principle: the 2018 to 2021 C200 and C300 W205 use a turbocharged four-cylinder with direct injection, with different displacement and power. The livelier C300 reaches 258 hp and 370 Nm. W205 saloon, S205 estate, C205 coupé or A205 convertible: all four body styles take the same system, and your VIN confirms the version before manufacturing.
The Mercedes four-cylinder has an understated, slightly deep tone that can turn hoarse under heavy load. In the W205, the factory exhaust almost erases it: on board, you hear the wind and the road well before the mechanicals. Open the valves on the Rog cat-back and the C-Class takes on a rumble that is present at start-up and a frank note under acceleration. Close them: it regains the reserve of an upmarket car.
At the workshop, the factory exhaust comes off and ours takes its place in about two hours, held by band clamps and gaskets, without cutting. For the valves, the factory control is retained if the car has one; otherwise, the Rog remote decides.
On these turbo engines, the “Manifold” option refers to the downpipe, which carries the original catalytic converter. The 200-cell downpipe keeps emissions control and is enough for most C-Class cars. The more open versions, 100 cells, accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and decat, reserved for track use, are aimed at a use other than the everyday saloon. No Stage 2 figure is published for these versions, and without an ECU remap the part adds no power. As for material, 304 stainless steel is enough for a car driven all year round; titanium, around 40% lighter, is for those who want a colour and less mass.

Questions about the Mercedes-Benz C200 / C300 W205 / S205 / C205 / A205 exhaust.
Which W205 C-Class models are covered by this C200 / C300 page?
The 2018 to 2021 C200 and C300 W205. The C400, C43 and C63 of the same generation have their own page. Give us your VIN: we check the version before any manufacturing.
Does an equipped C300 W205 need to go back through the ECU?
No, the cat-back fits with the original ECU. The page publishes no Stage 2 figure for the C200 and C300: if you are considering the downpipe and an ECU remap, the result will depend on the exact engine and the tuner.
And at the vehicle inspection, with a C200 W205 fitted with the system?
With the valves closed, the car can hardly be told apart from a standard C-Class. As long as the factory front section or a 200-cell downpipe stays in place, the gases are treated just as they were when new. Beyond that, the 100-cell version is assessed according to the car and your country’s rules, and the decat variant is reserved for track use.
Which material do you recommend for a C200 or C300 W205 used every day?
304 stainless steel is the most frequent choice: sturdy, unaffected by winter salt, with a round sound. Titanium lightens the system by around 40% and gives a more metallic sound at the top of the rev counter.
Saloon, estate, coupé or convertible: does the C200 or C300 W205 take the same system?
Yes. The W205 saloon, the S205 estate, the C205 coupé and the A205 convertible take the same Rog system: same chassis, same engine, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Mercedes-Benz C200 / C300 W205 / S205 / C205 / A205: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
