Which valved exhaust for a Mercedes-AMG GLC63 or GLC63 S X253?
The Rog system for the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 and GLC63 S X253 is a valved cat-back exhaust in 304 stainless steel or titanium, built to your VIN for the 476 or 510 hp twin-turbo M177 V8: the same system serves both versions. Valves open, the V8's deep rumble returns; closed, the GLC keeps the comfort of a family SUV.
Sound, options and fitting in detail: our Mercedes-AMG GLC63 X253 guide.
An SUV with a hand-built AMG V8: the GLC63 X253 receives the M177, a 4.0-litre twin-turbo with its turbos housed in the vee, with 476 hp and 650 Nm, or 510 hp and 700 Nm as a GLC63 S. The page covers both versions over the 2017 to 2022 model years; the V6 GLC43 and the GLC300 have their own page.
Recent regulations have imposed a particulate filter and oversized silencers on this V8, and its thunder has turned polite. The Rog cat-back, valved or with valves as some call it, gives it back the deep rumble and the bangs on the overrun; closed, it leaves the GLC63 the comfort of a family SUV, for the school run as for holidays.
For this SUV, the system follows your VIN and is fitted in about two hours on a lift, held by clamps and gaskets, without welding. The AMG modes keep control of factory valves; otherwise, the Rog remote, with its box in the boot.
Under the option name “Manifold”, this GLC63 actually receives the catalysed downpipe, as close as possible to the turbos housed in the vee. In 200-cell form, emissions control is retained, the most sensible configuration for an SUV driven every day. The 100-cell version, for its part, will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat variant is reserved for track use: two choices that fit poorly with a family SUV. For the 510 hp GLC63 S, the page publishes a Stage 2 of 590 hp and 920 Nm, with a full ECU remap. As for materials, titanium around 40% lighter or 304 stainless steel, rounder to the ear.

Questions about the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 / GLC63 S X253 4.0 V8 biturbo exhaust.
Is the system the same for the GLC63 and the GLC63 S X253?
Yes, both versions from 2017 to 2022 share this page, for the system as for the downpipe. Your VIN lets us confirm the model year and version before manufacturing. The GLC63 Coupé C253 is neither confirmed nor excluded by our sources.
What potential for a remapped GLC63 S X253?
For the 510 hp S version, the Stage 2 table shows 590 hp and 920 Nm once the downpipe is fitted and the map redone. The cat-back alone, for its part, needs no ECU remap and leaves the AMG management intact.
Does a modified GLC63 X253 need a particular configuration for vehicle inspection?
Valves closed, with the factory front section or a 200-cell downpipe: the SUV stays at a stock volume and its emissions control works. With a 100-cell downpipe, the SUV will be accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules. As the decat version is reserved for track use, it does not concern a GLC63 going for inspection.
With the Rog system, does the GLC63 X253 keep its smoothness for family journeys?
Yes: with the valves closed, it keeps its original silence for journeys with passengers. The V8 only speaks up again when you choose, via the AMG modes or the Rog remote.
Mercedes-AMG GLC63 / GLC63 S X253 4.0 V8 biturbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
