    A question about this exhaust?

    Mercedes-AMGGLE43 / GLE63 W166 / C292

    The Mercedes-AMG GLE43 W166 / C292 exhaust in detail.

The 2016 to 2019 GLE43 W166 is fitted with the M276, a 367 hp and 520 Nm 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6, paired with 4MATIC drive: broad torque available early, strong acceleration, confident overtaking. An engine more versatile than showy, happily discreet in character, which nonetheless makes this SUV a real AMG. The GLE450 is not documented in our records and is therefore not covered.

Gruff, eager, with a slightly metallic grain under acceleration: the twin-turbo V6’s voice is surprising, but the two turbos dampen part of it and the factory system finishes the job. For an AMG-badged model, the result is frustrating. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back gives it a deeper, fuller sound with every burst of acceleration; with them closed, the SUV regains the ideal discretion for holiday roads.

For this SUV, the valved system follows your VIN; about two hours in the workshop, clamps, gaskets, and no welding. If it has factory valves, the GLE43 keeps their control; otherwise, the Rog remote operates them. The V8 GLE63 W166, the E43 W213 and the SLC43 R172, which share this V6, have their own pages.

Under the “Manifold” label, this GLE43 actually receives the catalysed downpipe that follows the turbos of its V6. For an SUV used by a family, the 200-cell version, which keeps emissions control, remains the sensible choice. More open, the 100-cell version, accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat variant, reserved for track use, are poorly suited to a holiday SUV. With the map redone and the downpipe fitted, the GLE43 reaches 465 hp and 650 Nm according to the page. Finally, titanium around 40% lighter or 304 stainless steel, rounder and more common.

    Questions about the Mercedes-AMG GLE43 W166 / C292 3.0 V6 biturbo exhaust.

My GLE W166 is a GLE450: can the system designed for the GLE43 AMG be fitted to it?

Not documented: our page only covers the 2016 to 2019 GLE43 W166 3.0 twin-turbo, for the system as for the downpipe. Send us your SUV’s VIN and we will check the specific case before any manufacturing.

What can a GLE43 W166 deliver when remapped with the downpipe?

According to our data, a GLE43 tuned to Stage 2 goes from 367 hp and 520 Nm to 465 hp and 650 Nm, depending on the engine’s condition and the tuner. Without a downpipe, no ECU remap is needed to enjoy the system.

Does a modified GLE43 W166 need to be prepared before the vehicle inspection?

Simply close the valves and keep the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe: the SUV sounds as stock and its emissions control stays active. A GLE43 fitted with the 100-cell will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country. The decat downpipe, reserved for track use, is out of the question for an inspection.

On the road to your holidays, does the equipped GLE43 W166 stay relaxing?

Yes: with the valves shut, the V6 fades into the background and cruising stays quiet for the whole family. You give it its voice back at the press of a button when the road suits.

Does the GLE43 Coupé C292 take the same system as the SUV?

Yes. The W166 SUV and the C292 Coupé take the same Rog system: same chassis, same twin-turbo V6, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.

    Mercedes-AMG GLE43 W166 / C292 3.0 V6 biturbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?

No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
