The Mercedes-Benz CLS350 C257 exhaust in detail.
Under the bonnet of the CLS350 C257 is the M264: a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 299 hp and 400 Nm, which focuses on efficiency rather than expression. Acceleration stays crisp despite the size of a large saloon, and the page covers the 2018 to 2023 model years. The six-cylinder CLS450 and the CLS53 AMG have their own pages.
A modern turbocharged four-cylinder has more character than you would suspect: a muffled note at low revs, a sharper grain under acceleration. The factory exhaust erases all that and leaves only a neutral whisper, out of step with the car’s design. With the valves open, the Rog cat-back gives it a deeper, more substantial tone, never intrusive; with the valves closed, the elegant silence returns for business meetings.
The system is built for your VIN, then bolted on in about two hours, clamps and gaskets, no cutting. Factory valve control retained if the CLS has it; failing that, the Rog remote.
The “Manifold” option replaces the M264’s downpipe, identical to the one on the E300 W213 according to specialist manufacturers. The 200-cell version, which keeps emissions control, is the one we recommend on a saloon of this type. A 100-cell downpipe would be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat remains reserved for track use, a rare use for a CLS350. No Stage 2 figures are published, and without an ECU remap the effect remains acoustic. Titanium, around 40% lighter, joins 304 stainless steel as a material option.

Questions about the Mercedes-Benz CLS350 C257 2.0 turbo exhaust.
Can I fit the CLS350 C257 system to a six-cylinder CLS450?
No, the CLS450 has its own page, as does the CLS53 AMG. This page exclusively concerns the four-cylinder CLS350 C257, 2018 to 2023 model years. The VIN lets us confirm your version before manufacturing.
What would be the point of an ECU remap on a CLS350 C257 fitted with the downpipe?
For the rear system, no: the M264 keeps its ECU and its 299 hp. With the downpipe, it is the ECU remap that converts the flow into power; the page publishes no Stage 2 for this engine.
Vehicle inspection: does a modified CLS350 need any preparation?
Simply close the valves and keep the cat-back alone or a 200-cell downpipe: stock sound, treated exhaust gases. More open, the 100-cell version will be accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country. Reserved for track use, the decat version falls outside this framework.
Which material do you recommend for a CLS350 C257?
304 stainless steel for a car driven all year round, with a round sound; titanium if you are after around 40% less mass and a clearer note at high revs, with a colour of your choice.
Mercedes-Benz CLS350 C257 2.0 turbo: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
