The Audi A4 and A5 B8 2.0 TFSI exhaust in detail.
Here is the exhaust for the A4 and A5 B8 2.0 TFSI, from 2008 to 2016: a direct-injection turbocharged inline four-cylinder, tuned to between 180 and 230 hp depending on the version. The thrust arrives early and makes these Audis lively in town as on the dual carriageway. The more recent B9s, the naturally aspirated A4 B8 3.2 FSI, the S4 and S5 B8 or the S5 V8 each have their own page.
On this turbo, the turbine already dampens part of the pulses, and the factory exhaust smooths out the rest into a neutral purr. The valved Rog cat-back opens the way: a frank grain at start-up, acceleration you can hear, a few crackles on lift-off. With the valves closed, your A4 or A5 regains the discretion of a cruiser, the one for long motorway stages.
Fitting requires neither welding nor cutting, just band clamps, gaskets and about two hours on a lift, with round tailpipes. The valves are controlled through the driving modes if the car has them from the factory; otherwise, the Rog remote, whose unit finds its place in the boot.
To go further, this page’s “Manifold” option replaces the downpipe, which runs from the turbo and houses the catalytic converter. Because the A4 and A5 B8 are often everyday cars, the 200-cell downpipe, which leaves emissions control in place, is the most coherent choice; the 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, and the decat version is reserved for track use. Without an ECU remap, it gives sound and lightens the system slightly, without adding power. As for the material, 304 stainless steel gives this four-cylinder a full sound, while titanium, around 40% lighter, makes it clearer at high revs and comes in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Audi A4 / A5 B8 2.0 TFSI exhaust.
My A4 or A5 B8 is older than 2016: does the system fit it?
Yes. The page covers the 2008 to 2016 A4 and A5 B8 2.0 TFSI: the A4, built until 2015 in Europe and until the 2016 model year in North America, and the A5, built until 2016. The system is built to your VIN, which confirms the version and body style before manufacturing.
Does the A4 B8’s 225 hp 2.0 TFSI need an ECU remap for the system?
Not for the cat-back, which keeps Audi’s map. Yes if you want to make the most of the downpipe: the published Stage 2 figures for this 225 hp engine are 305 hp and 462 Nm, at an approved tuner.
With this system, how does the A5 B8 present at vehicle inspection?
With the valves closed, the four-cylinder regains its ex-factory discretion. Nothing changes on emissions control as long as the car keeps the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe. For a 100-cell downpipe, the decision depends on the vehicle and your country’s rules; in decat form, the A5 only runs on track.
What is the difference from the A4 and A5 B9 system?
Same engine family, but a different generation: the 2017 to 2021 B9 has its own page, with its 190 and 252 hp versions. Choose the one that matches your registration document, and we confirm by VIN.
Audi A4 / A5 B8 2.0 TFSI: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Audi A4 / A5 B8 2.0 TFSI: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
