Which valved exhaust for an Audi A4 or A5 B9 2.0 TFSI?
The Rog system for the Audi A4 and A5 B9 2.0 TFSI (2017-2021) is a valved cat-back exhaust in 304 stainless steel or titanium, built to your VIN for the 190 and 252 hp versions, in saloon and Avant form. For the A5, whose rear section depends on the body style, the VIN confirms the system before production; valves open, the four-cylinder finally comes out of its shell.
Sound, options and fitting in detail: our Audi A4 / A5 B9 2.0 TFSI guide.
On the A4 and A5 B9, the 2.0 TFSI is a turbocharged four-cylinder whose turbine already absorbs part of the noise, and the factory exhaust smothers what remains. Freed, however, it has a hoarse, full voice, with a boost whoosh that blends with the bass every time you accelerate. Our valved cat-back lets that frank grain through at start-up; closed, it gives the Audi back the serenity of a cruiser.
The page covers 2017 to 2021 and shows two tunes: 190 hp and 320 Nm, or 252 hp and 370 Nm. It lists the A4 saloon and Avant, which take the same system, and the A5, whose rear section depends on the body style: your VIN confirms it before manufacturing. The previous B8 generation, the V6 S4 and S5 B9 and the RS4 and RS5 each have their own system.
Beyond the sound, the “Manifold” option replaces the downpipe, the first part after the turbo and home of the catalytic converter. On an A4 or A5 used for work as well as holidays, the 200-cell downpipe makes the most sense since it keeps emissions control, with the 100-cell accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules and the decat version reserved for track use. With the Audi map, this part brings sound and a little weight saving; the horsepower requires an ECU remap.
No welding: clamps, gaskets, about two hours for an equipped workshop, and round exits. The valves respond to the drive modes if the car has them from the factory, or to the Rog remote, with its box in the boot. As for the material, the A4 or A5 takes 304 stainless steel, robust and round, or titanium, around 40% lighter for the same design and more crystalline at high revs, in three finishes.

Questions about the Audi A4 / A5 B9 2.0 TFSI exhaust.
Is my A5 B9 Sportback 2.0 TFSI compatible?
The A5 B9 2.0 TFSI is covered, but its rear section differs by body style, the Sportback on one side, the coupé and convertible on the other: send us the VIN and we confirm the system for your Sportback before starting manufacturing.
Remapped, what can an A4 B9 2.0 TFSI deliver?
The cat-back requires no new map. The figures change with the downpipe and an ECU remap at an approved tuning centre: 273 hp and 420 Nm published for the 190 hp version, 315 hp and 462 Nm for the 252 hp version.
Vehicle inspection for a modified A4 B9: what are the right reflexes?
First reflex: close the valves, so the 2.0 TFSI returns to its standard voice. Second reflex: keep full emissions control, which is the case with the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe. For the 100-cell, the decision lies with the inspector depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules; the decat version belongs only on the track.
Can the A4 B9’s valves stay controlled by the Audi driving modes?
Yes, provided your A4 left the factory with valves: the system then connects to their control. Without factory valves, the two-button Rog remote opens and closes them whenever you want.
Does the A4 Avant B9 2.0 TFSI take the same system as the saloon?
Yes. The A4 saloon and the A4 Avant B9 take the same Rog system: same chassis, same 2.0 TFSI, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.
Audi A4 / A5 B9 2.0 TFSI: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Audi A4 / A5 B9 2.0 TFSI: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
