The Audi S4 and S5 B9 3.0 TFSI exhaust in detail.
This system is for the petrol-engined S4 and S5 B9: the 3.0 TFSI, a 354 hp, 500 Nm turbocharged V6, for the 2019 to 2025 model years. The S4 and S5 TDI, sold in Europe in the same generation, are not covered by this page. The supercharged S4 and S5 B8, the S5 8T and the RS4 and RS5 B9 have their own systems.
Everything is designed to keep this V6 discreet: the turbo breaks up part of the noise, the factory exhaust takes care of the rest. Many owners like this restraint, but would like to be able to choose. With the valves open, our valved cat-back gives the V6 a deep, muscular voice, assertive under load, with crisp crackles on lift-off. With the valves closed, the S4 becomes the quiet grand tourer you know again.
Four round exits finish a system fixed with clamps and gaskets, without any welding, in about two hours in the workshop. If your S5 has its factory valves, the drive modes stay in control; otherwise, a box in the boot and a two-button remote do the job.
On this turbo V6, the “Manifold” option corresponds to the downpipe, the part that carries the catalytic converter at the turbo outlet. Chosen with 200 cells, it preserves the V6’s emissions control; with 100 cells, its acceptance varies depending on the car and the rules in your country, and its decat version is reserved for track use. As long as the ECU is not remapped, the S4 keeps its 354 hp and gains only sound and a little less weight. Stainless steel remains the most common choice, but titanium, around 40% lighter for the same design, appeals to those who want a brushed, gold or purple finish.

Questions about the Audi S4 / S5 B9 3.0 TFSI V6 exhaust.
Can my S4 B9 TDI take this system?
No, this system was designed for the petrol S4 and its 354 hp V6 3.0 TFSI. For an S4 or S5 TDI, contact us with the VIN before ordering: we will tell you what exists for your version.
Which Stage 2 on an S5 B9 3.0 TFSI?
The cat-back alone keeps the factory map. With the downpipe and an ECU remap at an approved tuning centre, the published figures for this V6 reach 440 hp and 670 Nm. A sport catalytic converter can trigger the engine warning light without an ECU remap.
Audi S4 / S5 B9 3.0 TFSI V6 with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
With the valves closed, it returns to a sound close to factory. On the exhaust gas side, the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe let the catalytic converter do its work. In 100-cell form, the answer depends on the vehicle and your country’s rules; a decat S4 is reserved for track use.
Sportback, Avant, convertible: which S5 and S4 B9 models are compatible?
The S4 saloon, the S4 Avant and the S5 Sportback take the same Rog system. The S5 coupé and convertible have their own rear section: for them, send us the VIN and we confirm the system before manufacturing. Only the 3.0 TFSI petrol engine is covered.
Audi S4 / S5 B9 3.0 TFSI V6: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Audi S4 / S5 B9 3.0 TFSI V6: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
