The Audi S5 F5 exhaust in detail.
Under the code F5, Audi designates the second-generation S5, produced from 2017 to 2025 with a 3.0 TFSI turbo V6 rated at 354 hp and 500 Nm. Ever-present torque, flexibility, reliability: this engine was tuned for performance without ostentation. This page overlaps with the “S4 / S5 B9 3.0 TFSI V6” page, based on a detailed technical reference and limited to petrol versions from 2019 to 2023.
The S5’s factory exhaust takes this restraint to near-total silence, whereas many owners would like to be able to choose. With the valves open, our valved cat-back gives the V6 a deep, muscular voice, punctuated by crackles on the overrun; with the valves closed, the S5 becomes a discreet cruiser again, relaxing over long distances.
As with every page inherited from the old catalogue, your VIN is checked before manufacturing: it confirms the petrol engine and the body style, and tells us whether the S4 / S5 B9 page is a better fit. Fitting is done with clamps and gaskets, no welding, in about two hours, and the factory valves keep their control; otherwise, the Rog remote.
On this turbo V6, the “Manifold” option replaces the downpipe, the part that follows the turbo and contains the catalytic converter. As an everyday coupé or Sportback, the S5 benefits from the 200-cell downpipe, which preserves emissions control; the 100-cell one remains accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use. Without an ECU remap, the 354 hp stays as it is. Two materials are offered for the S5: 304 stainless steel, robust, and titanium, around 40% lighter and offered in three finishes.

Questions about the Audi S5 F5 exhaust.
Does my 2020 S5 fall under this F5 page or the B9 page?
Both concern the same V6 3.0 TFSI. The S4 / S5 B9 page relies on a precise technical reference, for the 2019 to 2023 petrol versions. A VIN check tells us which one to order, before any commitment.
My S5 F5 is a TDI: can I order?
No, this system targets the 354 hp petrol V6 3.0 TFSI. For a diesel S5, contact us with the VIN and we will tell you what exists.
Is an ECU remap needed on the S5 F5?
The cat-back, for its part, does without it. With the downpipe, it turns the freed-up flow into power; the Stage 2 figure on this page differs from the one on the S4 / S5 B9 page and is not repeated.
Modified S5 F5: how should you prepare for the vehicle inspection?
Valves closed, plus the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe: the S5 keeps its emissions control and a noise level close to stock. A 100-cell will be judged according to the vehicle and your country’s rules, and an S5 without a catalytic converter no longer leaves the circuit.
Audi S5 F5: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Audi S5 F5: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.

Audi S5 F5: waking up the turbo V6, the complete exhaust system guide
The S5 F5 is an accomplished GT coupé: turbo V6, quattro drive, understated elegance. Too restrained on the exhaust side: the factory system is completely neutral. The V6 has a deep, muscular voice that is just waiting to come out,...
