The Audi S6 and S7 C7 exhaust in detail.
The S6 and S7 C7 share the 4.0 TFSI, Ingolstadt’s twin-turbo V8 with its turbos housed in the vee: 420 hp and 550 Nm at launch, 450 hp after the facelift. The page covers the 2013 to 2018 model years, the S6 saloon and Avant as well as the S7 Sportback. The more powerful RS6 C7 and the V6 S6 C8 have their own page.
This “hot-vee” architecture naturally filters the exhaust, and silencers sized for cruising do the rest: the V8 murmurs instead of rumbling. With the valves open, our valved cat-back removes the bottlenecks and releases its real pulse, deep at idle, authoritative as it climbs, with clear crackles on the overrun. With the valves closed, the Audi becomes a hushed grand tourer again.
Fitting is done with clamps and gaskets, without welding, in about two hours; four round tailpipes sign off the rear. The factory valves stay controlled by the driving modes; failing that, the Rog remote, with its unit in the boot and two buttons, takes care of it.
Here the “Manifold” option replaces the downpipes that follow the turbos, along with their catalytic converters. With 200-cell catalysts, emissions control stays in place; at 100 cells, they are accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and without a catalytic converter they are reserved for track use. With Audi’s map, they add sound and lighten the system slightly, without adding horsepower. For the S6 as for the S7, 304 stainless steel offers a full bass and titanium lightens the system by around 40% for the same design, in a brushed, gold or purple finish.

Questions about the Audi S6 / S6 Avant / S7 C7 4.0 TFSI V8 exhaust.
Is the S6 Avant C7 compatible with the system?
Yes. The S6 saloon, the S6 Avant and the S7 Sportback C7 take the Rog system on this page, with the same 4.0 TFSI V8 and the same clamp-and-gasket fitting. 2012 cars are not covered by this page.
A remapped 450 hp S7 C7: what does it give?
The cat-back keeps the factory map. The published figures, downpipes and ECU remap included, reach 546 hp and 788 Nm for the facelifted version.
Before vehicle inspection, what should be checked on a modified S6 C7?
With the valves closed, the V8 returns to a level close to factory. Cat-back alone or 200-cell downpipes: emissions control is still there. With 100-cell downpipes, everything depends on the vehicle and your country’s rules; without a catalytic converter, the S6 is reserved for track use.
Does the S7 C7 stay comfortable on the motorway?
Yes: with the valves closed, the V8 runs through the silencer designed for long distances, and the S7 keeps its grand tourer composure. You open them for a mountain road, not because the motorway forces you to.
Audi S6 / S6 Avant / S7 C7 4.0 TFSI V8: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Audi S6 / S6 Avant / S7 C7 4.0 TFSI V8: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
