The Audi S6 and S7 C8 2.9 TFSI exhaust in detail.
On the petrol S6 and S7 C8, Audi placed the 2.9 TFSI’s two turbos inside the vee formed by the cylinder banks: the gas path shortens, the response becomes sharp, and this 2.9-litre V6 delivers 450 hp with 600 Nm available very early. This page covers the 2019 to 2025 model years; the diesel versions sold in Europe on the same generation are not included.
A twin-turbo V6 does not have the roundness of a V8, but it has a deep, mechanical grain, with a hint of roughness under acceleration. On the stock S6, it shrinks to a distant whisper drowned out by road noise as soon as speed rises. With the valves open, our valved cat-back gives it back a muffled, full tone at start-up, then a tauter note when you accelerate hard; with the valves closed, the S6 and S7 become long-distance touring cars again.
Two round tailpipes mark the rear, and the system is secured with clamps and gaskets, no welding, in about two hours. The factory valve control stays active if the car has it; otherwise, the Rog remote, whose box slips into the boot, takes over at the press of a button.
Further upstream, the option called “Manifold” actually replaces the pair of downpipes running down from the turbos with the catalytic converters. For a grand tourer that stays on the open road, the 200-cell version keeps emissions control intact; the 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the vehicle and your country’s rules, while the decat version is reserved for track use. Without an ECU remap, the V6 keeps its 450 hp, simply with more voice and a little less weight. Titanium takes around 40% off the weight of 304 stainless steel and dresses these grand tourers in brushed, gold or purple hues.

Questions about the Audi S6 / S7 C8 2.9 TFSI V6 exhaust.
My S6 C8 is a TDI: does this system suit it?
No. This system is designed for the petrol 2.9 TFSI of the S6 and S7 C8, with no extension to the diesel engines. Write to us with your TDI’s VIN: we will tell you honestly what exists, or not, for it.
What is published at Stage 2 for an S7 C8 2.9 TFSI?
The cat-back alone leaves the factory engine management in place and simply frees the V6’s voice. Once the downpipes are fitted and the map revised at an approved tuning centre, the page shows 530 hp and 830 Nm, against 450 hp and 600 Nm as standard.
Vehicle inspection for an S6 C8: does anything need removing?
Presented with the valves closed, it regains the hushed breath it had when it left the factory. Its gas treatment remains complete with the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipes. Beyond that, the 100-cell is judged according to the vehicle and your country’s rules, and downpipes without a catalytic converter belong only on a circuit.
On a long journey, does the equipped S7 C8 become noisy?
No, as long as the valves stay closed: the gases pass through the silencer, designed for cruising, and the cabin keeps its grand-touring calm. The valves only open on your command, for a back road or a quick merge.
Does the S6 Avant C8 2.9 TFSI take the same system?
Yes, with the 2.9 TFSI petrol engine: sold since 2020, notably in Japan, the S6 Avant takes the same Rog system as the S6 saloon and the S7. The European S6 Avant, with its TDI engine, is not covered. Your VIN confirms the engine before manufacturing.
Audi S6 / S7 C8 2.9 TFSI V6: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
Audi S6 / S7 C8 2.9 TFSI V6: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
