    A question about this exhaust?

    AudiTT / TTS 8J

The Audi TT / TT Roadster 8J 2.0 TFSI exhaust in detail.

The second-generation TT, type 8J, received a 2.0 TFSI from the EA888 family between 2010 and 2014: a turbocharged four-cylinder, 211 hp and 350 Nm. That is the period we list for this cat-back; older TT 8J models are not proven, and your VIN decides before manufacturing. The more powerful TTS 8J has its own page.

Tuned for efficiency and quietness, this TFSI leaves an almost anonymous factory sound, even though it responds very well to a well-engineered exhaust. Open, our cat-back’s valves let you hear a full, sporty four-cylinder that crackles on the overrun; closed, they give the coupé back its factory discretion. The aim is not volume at all costs, but a voice that suits this design.

This page does not sell a front section: the TTS 8J downpipe is not guaranteed on this engine, and we have no specific part number for the TT 8J 2.0 TFSI. The system therefore fits after the factory catalytic converter, which stays in place. The page still quotes 271 hp and 500 Nm in Stage 2 with a full ECU remap.

Fitting needs only clamps, gaskets and two hours in the workshop, without welding, and the tailpipes stay round. A TT with factory valves keeps their control; the others get the Rog remote, whose small unit is hidden in the boot. 304 stainless steel gives a full sound, while titanium lightens the system by around 40% and is finished in brushed, gold or purple.

Questions about the Audi TT / TT Roadster 8J 2.0 TFSI exhaust.

Coupé or Roadster: which TT 8J 2.0 TFSI is covered?

Both. The TT 8J coupé and the TT 8J Roadster take the same Rog system: same chassis, same 2.0 TFSI, same clamp-and-gasket fitting. Your VIN is only used to confirm the version and model year before manufacturing.

Why doesn’t the TT 8J 2.0 TFSI page offer a downpipe?

The part sold for the TTS 8J belongs to another engine family and is not guaranteed on your EA888, and no reference specific to the TT 8J 2.0 exists. We would rather sell nothing than a doubtful part.

Does the TT 8J’s ECU need to be modified after fitting?

No change is needed: the EA888 keeps its 211 hp and its Audi programming. A full ECU remap remains possible, in which case the page shows 271 hp and 500 Nm.

Does a modified TT 8J change anything at vehicle inspection?

The factory catalytic converter stays in place, so emissions control is as it was when the car left the factory. Present the coupé with the valves closed: the four-cylinder then regains its standard discretion.

Audi TT / TT Roadster 8J 2.0 TFSI: Does a valved exhaust system drone?

No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.

Audi TT / TT Roadster 8J 2.0 TFSI: straight pipe or resonator?

On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
