Configuration
BMW 320i / 330i GT F34 Valved Exhaust System (2013-2020)
Valves
Operated by remote control, factory-paired.
Estimated at 0.50 m from the outlet, 45°, 2,000 rpm with a warm engine. Allow ± 2 dB depending on the engine and measuring point. A 3 dB difference is audible in a direct comparison; 10 dB sounds roughly twice as loud.
Configuration guide
Sound intensity with the valves open, on a scale of 0 to 10.

The BMW 320i and 330i GT F34 exhaust in detail.
The 3 Series Gran Turismo F34 was designed for travel: a longer wheelbase, a large tailgate, a generous cabin. As a 320i or 330i, it relies on a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, first the N20, then the B48 from mid-2016. The 320i GT quotes 184 hp and 270 Nm with either engine, the 330i GT B48,252 hp and 350 Nm. The six-cylinder 335i GT has its own page.
On the F34, the factory exhaust aims for absolute silence: on board, you mostly hear the intake whoosh and road noise. Yet the four-cylinder has a dry, fairly deep voice at idle, hoarser under acceleration. With the valves open, the valved Rog cat-back brings out a full rumble at start-up and a frank note with every burst of acceleration; with the valves closed, the Gran Turismo stays true to its calling as a family grand tourer.
Under the Gran Turismo’s long floor, fitting remains simple and weld-free, about two hours with clamps and gaskets, for an exhaust bent to match your VIN whose valves respond to the factory control or, failing that, to the Rog remote.
The “Manifold” option sells the downpipe, the catalysed pipe that follows the turbo, and it differs depending on the engine: one part for the N20, another for the B48, hence the question asked when ordering. On its own, it brings sound and a little lightness; with a map, it releases power. For a touring car loaded with luggage, the 200-cell is the solution that keeps emissions control; the 100-cell is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use. The cat-back comes in 304 stainless steel or in titanium around 40% lighter.

Questions about the BMW 320i / 330i GT F34 2.0T exhaust.
How do I know whether my 320i GT F34 has the N20 or the B48?
The change took place in mid-2016; as the downpipe differs between the two engines, we ask for your VIN when you order and identify the right part before manufacturing.
A remapped 330i GT: what figures?
With a downpipe and a map from an approved tuner, the page quotes Stage 2 figures of 310 hp and 480 Nm for the 330i GT, 280 hp and 450 Nm for the 320i GT N20, and 310 hp and 460 Nm for the 320i GT B48; the cat-back alone is happy with the standard electronics.
BMW 320i / 330i GT F34 2.0T with a Rog exhaust: what should you know about vehicle inspection?
With the valves closed, it regains stock calm, and emissions control stays in place with the cat-back alone or the 200-cell downpipe; the 100-cell one is accepted or not depending on the car and the rules in your country, and the decat version is reserved for track use.
Is a sports exhaust compatible with long trips in an F34?
Absolutely: with the valves closed, the GT keeps the acoustic comfort of a grand tourer, and you only open the valves on the road of your choice, not when the motorway dictates it.
Stainless steel or titanium for a 3 Series GT loaded with the family?
304 stainless steel is the safe choice, robust and round-sounding; titanium lightens the system by around 40% for the same design, a detail on a car of this size, but appreciated for its brushed, gold or purple finishes.
BMW 320i / 330i GT F34 2.0T: Does a valved exhaust system drone?
No. With the valves closed, the gases flow through the whole rear silencer and the cabin stays calm at a steady speed. Our Rog exhausts are designed to avoid drone. Learn more: Why our systems stay calm on the motorway.
BMW 320i / 330i GT F34 2.0T: straight pipe or resonator?
On this model, two characters at the same price: the straight pipe for the raw sound of your engine, unfiltered, or the resonator for a rounder and slightly softer voice. Either way, the exhaust stays fully sporty. Learn more: Exhaust resonator: what does it do? Straight pipe or resonator, which sound to choose.
